Question about Goldstar DH504EL Dehumidifier
Unit is approximately 2 years old and was unplugged and stored for the winter. Tried to power it up and no luck! Troubleshooting leads me to possible sensor issues. I say this because I can have voltage on teh circuit card and can get the fan or compressor to run by shorting out the switches. Anyone know the approximate sensor resistances? Any other ideas? BTW, bucket switch is working properly as well.

If any machine is completely electrically dead it is a sign that there is no electrical voltage getting through to operate it. Using an electric meter it is a relatively easy task to find the point of differential voltages which would indicate where the open circuit is located. The blue green fluid found is from copper oxide and is not necessarily indicative of a refrigerant leak. Oil present would be an indicator of a refrigerant leak.

You need to check that the bucket is clean and that the sensor for the water level in the bucket is clean.
An old toothbrush and some warm soapy water can sometimes achieve a great result.
Failing this you may need a new sensor, be careful and either draw or photo the old wiring route with your cell phone to make it easier to fit the new sensor
Hope this helps
