You either have a service call error or you did not reset the drum

the instructions came with drum.

How to reset drum ineo 164


Does the screen on the control panel state to replace the drum? if so reset the counter with out replacing the drum is not good since the copier works off the counter if the counter is reset then the copier thinks the drum is new set the voltage for a new drum the voltage is set for a new drum which it is not causes image problems.

Reseat the toner cartridge. Turn the printer off, and then back on again. You may want to try a new cartridge, but if that does not eliminate the error, call your HP support line. If the imaging-drum light is still blinking but the Attention light is not on, you must replace the imaging drum before the printer can continue printing. The imaging-drum light might be blinking by itself or at the same time another light is on or blinking. If another light is also on or blinking, turn the imaging-drum light off in the simulator and turn the other light on or blinking to isolate the condition. The printer has determined that it cannot read or write to the e-label on the imaging drum.Reseat the imaging drum, and then power cycle the printer. If this does not work, replace the imaging drum. If the imaging drum light is still blinking but the Attention light is not on, turn the printer off, and then back on. If the problem persists, replace the imaging drum E-label reader. The imaging-drum light might be blinking by itself or at the same time another light is on or blinking. If another light is also on or blinking, turn the imaging-drum light off in the simulator and turn the other light on or blinking to isolate the condition.

Brother 5250dn drum light blinking; I think drum is ok because I put drum from another working printer and the drum light continued to blink.


The drum light is on due to a preset counter to notify you that the drum has reached the end of Normal Usage life expectancy. It doesn't mean that it has failed, yet...but soon. I would suggest having a new drum on hand for when print quality starts failing. Either new drum units have a reset fuse in them to clear the warning light, or there is a reset proceedure to use after installing the new drum unit.

"CH" is blinking


CH is a door open?Open side door before you open the front door,check that drum,dev & toner unit is installed if this doesnt solve it push the righthand door downwards so that the switch makes connection.

Sharp al-1551


Did you replace the drum with a Sharp brand drum? I recently replaced a drum in my Sharp AL-1642CS, the replacement drum fits ok, and the lights you describe are gone now, but it does make an annoying noise that is new. I wish I would have spent the money to get a Sharp drum, then you can call them directly for support. When I have called them they have been very helpful.
