I've had a similar problem. You may have to reformat your HD. If you can try to back up your files with a USB device. If you can't you may lose all your game information.

Also, if you are unable to reformat it directly you may need to contact sony support and get it serviced although they may have a more clear fix on their support site which can be found at:

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

Hard disc currupted for ps3

Thanks for using Fixya.
To solve your problem, you need to enter the Diagnostic mode and rebuild the drive's structure.

Diagnostic Mode:

1)Turn off system
2)Hold power button through 1 startup and shutdown cycle...

3)Release button...

4)Hold power button until you hear two-simultaneous beeps, then release

5)Connect controller with USB cable and push PS button

6)Pick diagnostic option you desire...

7)Allow changes to be implemented...

8)Restart fixed console...

If this doesn't solve your , call Sony and they will replace it for you.

Good Luck and have a nice day

My ps3 tells me the hard disk is corrupted

Sounds like you might need a new hard drive. You could try to disconnect it and reconnecting it, but usually it does not fix the problem. just remember you need a 2.5 sata hard drive (might be a good thing, if you ever wanted more hard drive space).

Is the amber light blinking? Indicates PS not operating within specs. You can look at replacing the PS (~$79-99). GL

Dell computer

Your cache is full I would suggest that you reload windows after such a long time I am sure there are issues in windows causing this to happen reload windows and you should be good until the hard drive fails completely, FYI hard drives have a rated lifespan of 5 years after this it is all bonus/ risk time for all the data on the hard drive. a larger hard drive would not be a bad thing in any case as you can store much more on a new drive and ..they are cheap now.
Hope this helps , don't forget to rate if it fixes.

File currupt

you can reload the operating system by pressing alt+F10 during boot. (if you still have recovery partition on your harddrive).
if you already deleted recovery partition from your harddrive, the only option is installing OS from cd.

Blue screen

The blue screen indicates either an operating system error that will need either a system repair or reload using the system recovery disc or an operating system disc, or it indicates a hard drive failure, in which you will need a new hard drive. Start by trying a system repair, then reload if the repair doesn't work. If the machine has issues during or after the repair/reload, then it's the hard drive. The blue screen should have an error code. Sometimes it's helpful if you list the error code, it could tell us exactly which it is. I won't be back until tomorrow, but if you want to try the repair/reload tonight, and if it doesn't work let me know and I'll see if I can tell you what the code means.

Ok, this could be any number of things. It could be the hard drive, the motherboard, or the battery connection. You should attempt to do 2 things before sending it in for service: 1. Backup all your files onto your computer, and reformat the drive. You'll have to put it into recovery mode to reformat it. 2. Reload the firmware. First check and see which version you have, then write it down, and reinstall that same version (so you can keep using the same programs you are currently using, etc). If the problem still persists, you may have a hard drive or hardware issue and will need to get it serviced. P.S. I'd bet on the hard drive.
