Question about Acer H243Hbmid 24" Full HD LCD Monitor
My acer H243H monitor just started making a hissing noise (coming from the built in speakers). I do not even have them plugged in! Why would this happen? what is causing it?

Do you have a Sound Card installed in your computer, if not. Buy one at any local pars store. Now, if you have one installed. Then you must update your drivers or you are plugging your cable to a wrong output. Use the light green 1/8" connection.

When this occurs with mine, I power down the PC through windows and the monitor using the lower right power button, let bot sit for 10 - 20 seconds, then power on the PC and switch on the monitor a second or two later and the icon disappears.
Before I did this I found it would eventually disappear.
Acer support claim the H243H is a touchscreen unit, that's what the icon is all about, buy you must have Vista to use it, not XP.
