Hi! I've had my dishwasher for a few years now and I have spent a small fortune on having it reset when the overflow switch kicks in and stops the water from entering the dishwasher for no reason! I recently had a new one fitted and much to my dispare it has done it again!! What can I do instead of keep calling my repair man out? Please somebody help me!!! Many thanks!!

Dishwasher starts to work but after 30 seconds stops and two lights start flashing on pannel

Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You shouldNEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method.Service manual below, if the above doesn't help.

Motor will not start

Hi, the reset switch is located on the inside of the dishwasher. its on the actual motor. here's a tip to keep the motor operational during low usage cycles.

If you do not use your dishwasher often, set it to fill and pump out once every week.
This will help keep the seal moist, and the garbage disposer clear. it will also keep the motor form deactivating itself.

You need the control panel to reset before anything else can happen. To do this TURN OFF THE PLUG SOCKET FIRST AND UNPLUG. Then you need to drain ALL the water from the machine. Turn off the water supply feed and place the wastage pipe as low to the floor as poss ( 1-2" off floor). Water will gush out so use a large shallow tray and keep emptying the tray. Tilt the dishwasher over slightly to make sure all the water is out.
This will allow the control panel to reset itself which wouldn't normally happen if the base of the dishwasher was holding even a small amount of water.
Re connect the water, plug back in , select the RESET setting on the dial and close the door and switch on.
Leave for about 20 seconds and then turn off.
Rotate the selector switch to "A" Intensive wash and switch
I found this on another site and it really did work for me

you are probably plumbed in under the sink for the drain hose. a common problem is water coming back down the drain hose when you empty the sink. if so take the drain hose up as far as possible in a swan neck. other possibility is a leaking fill valve
