Question about HP Pavilion zd8000 Notebook

1 Answer

Powering down by itself. I have changed all the power options to never turn off but it still will shut down. It doesn't seem to be any time either. It can be 3mins or 30 mins. I do notice that my battery is only charging to 50% but I keep hooked to electric could this be the problem?

Remove the battery, see if it still shuts down. If it does not shut down when the battery is removed, than you can pretty much decide that the battery or the interface between the battery and the main board is the problem. If it still shuts down when there is no battery, and just plugged in via the power adapter, than it's either the power adapter, or the interface with the main board. Also, in "power options", make sure that "enable hibernation", and "standby" are NOT checked.

Hi, I have a 1.5kva cyberpower inverter installed but it doesn't charge the batteries even after displaying the input voltage on screen. It will just drain the batteries and then shut down the output.

Unless a battery is completely drained, over time it begins charging less and less. If your laptop seems to run for less and less time each time you unplug it from the wall, you probably need to reset it. This is a simple process.

Disable all power-saving and automatic shutdown programs or routines on your computer. If your laptop power plan dims the screen or goes into sleep mode after a few minutes of idle time, disable that. Unplug the laptop's AC adapter cord. Drain the laptop battery. You can just use the laptop until it shuts itself off, or you can wander away and come back when it's gone dark. Make sure that you do not turn it off or allow itself to shut down to conserve power; you want it to run out of power entirely. If you happen to be in a hurry, feel free to exhaust the computer more quickly by playing a 3D graphics-intensive computer game or watching a bit of online video content. Plug the AC adapter back in and wait for the charging indicator light for your laptop to come back on. Once you see that the laptop has begun charging again you are free to do whatever you like, so long as you do not turn the computer off until the battery is fully charged.

Acer extensa 4420 shuts down right after you push power button

sounds like it doesn't have enough power, is it completely charged? you may want to make sure you're getting power from the charger itself.

How to change the time on a solstice II

Your phone should have auto updated, but on rare occasions it doesn't happen. the best quick solution is to hold the power button down for 7 seconds to shut off your phone, then push the power button again to turn it back on.

The time should be correct.

If not, then you probably have your timezone settings wrong. Set your time zone and make sure to enable DST if it is an option on your phone.

My compaq CQ56-110US notebook USED to turn off in the normal way--clicking shut down. Recently shut down doesn't work and when I return, it "wakes up" open to the page I was on.

hello katherynier,
I suggest that you try "Changing the Power Options!"
First, click on the "Start Button."
In the Search Box, type: power, from the menu,
click to open the Power Options.

paul7of9_197.jpg There will be in the [Left] "Task Area,"
Power Options!
Go through the list and make change to the computer's
'power options'.
"Restart the computer, and see what happens!"
I hope these changes will fix the 'problem'.
If you need further assistance, write a 'comment', and
I'll get back to you as soon as possible!
"Best Regards"

Shut down itself

Hi i'm Rain.
If your Laptop is over heating you may need to look into a stronger type of cooling system { Fan }
But for now lets set up your power Options settings
to try to keep your CPU cool.
In power options select Power Saver.
If you see the selection to keep the fan running select it also. save and exit.
Hopefully this will help to keep your system cool until you can service it.

The screen shuts down after between 30 & 60 secs

This is an option for the TomTom. If you enter the Options, there should be something about Power Save features. In there, you will see options to shut off the screen, and you can have it do so after a certain time, once a certain speed is reached etc. Just change the time in which it turns itself off to never and you're fixed.

Won't stay turned on!

IF YOU GO IN TO YOUR CAMERAS MENU AND OPTIONS YOU WILL FIND A SETTING FOR THAT. EITHER UNDER POWER SAVER OR MAIN CAMERA OPTIONS AND SETTINGS. I HAD TO CHANGE MY DELAY TIME TO MAX. ALL CAMERAS NOW HAVE A TIME DELAY BEFORE POWERING OFF TO SAVE YOUR BATTERIES. ITS A GOOD IDEA IF YOU ACCIDENTLY SET YOUR CAMERA DOWN AND FORGET. BUT IT IS A PAIN WHEN IT COMES SET FOR 5 SECONDS. HOPE THATS ALL IT IS
