Whirl pool washer mod wtw4800bq1 it filled up with water then didn't do anything else push the start button and the lock light flashes lid up or down any help

It's the lid locking light that's flashing, the Lid Latch assembly needs to be replaced. It may be latching, but the switch inside it isn't working and doesn't recognize that it's latched. That's why it won't agitate or spin.
They have the part and a video on how to fix it at this parts company.
Other companies will have the part too.

I have a Kenmore 110. (full number is 110-82984810) It has a "ratchet/screw" type agitator. The big fins on the bottom part agitate back and forth, but the center piece no longer moves in a...

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Washer-Parts/Model-11082984810/0582/0153200?pathTaken=

and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

If the bottom agitates and not the top, the problem is likely the 4 "agitator dogs" designed to allow the top agitator to turn only one way.

Look at the section on the Sears site for Agitator, basket and tub.

See the part "Dog, agitator "

Remove the fabric softener unit, lift the top agitator cap (use a screwdriver) and you should see a plastic part in the center of the top agitator with a 1/2" square drive.

Remove the drive and lift off the top agitator. Turning it over you should see the 4 "dogs", replace these and the top agitator should turn in one direction only.

Replace the 1/2" drive, the cap and fabric softener unit and the top agitator should work.

Also see the following illustrated description of the above.

For future reference you might also want to review / print / save the following Whirl[pool / Kenmore Service Manual for these washers:

My whirl pool 1400 has stopped working the

Them washer are what you call high efficiency washers.HE. They only use 1 gallon of water to wash them clothes. You go adding more than a teaspoon of soap and that washer is gonna have a cow. Over a period of time that soap gonna build upb50e111.jpg so much the washer is gonna just give-up the ghost. If you know you use the correct amount of soap there could be something in them pump. You need to remove the service panel41b08ad.jpg and take a looksee at that tech sheet and see what it say about them light flashing. While you at it you may as well remove that cap6349b09.jpg and clean out that filter. d081835.jpgThat might put yall back in business. That tech sheet will be in there by that white box which is the motor control unit. The other stuff that the tech sheet error chart might reveal is located on the topside.539a7ad.jpg Good luck on dat repair mon ami.

I have the zuma whirl pool tub. the jets go on

This is an automatic feature to dry out the pipes and prevent mold. The next time you turn on the pump after leaving these tubs for a few weeks you get lots of black **** in the water and this is what this feature prevents. Sounds like the tub is working fine :)

Whrilpool modle #lsq9544kq0 washer works in

Humming could mean a stalled motor. These machines also have a coupling between motor and gearbox which can fail. However, the pump is attached to the motor, so if it's not pumping it probably means the motor isn't spinning. Check motor and/or gearbox.....Nomess

My top load 4.5 cubic whirl pool cabrio washer does not seem to clean my clothes. it almost acts like there is not enough water

your agitating belt might be slipping or worn, try holding the switch down with a pencil, and keeping the lid open and see if the agitator is moving or sluggish..good luck.
