Question about Sharp (BQCXGC50X1) Projector Lamp for PG-C45X, PG-C45S, XG-C50

1 Answer

Looking for the part number for the fly eye lens assemblies in a SHARP XGC 50 projector. Mine is very badly scorched and cracked. I've found several parts resellers who will sell me the part but can only do so if I have a part number. They sugested I contact SHARP tech support but they simply reffered me back to the same folks I already was in contact with. Decent projector, not great but good, lousy company to deal with however, anyone have any help they can offer in the form of the lense itself (by description) or a part number so I can order it?

either bad lamp (check fthe lamp or bulges, black spots or fogging), dirty projector (blow the dust out of it with canned air), or a fried fly-eye lens. the latter is the most probable. inside the lamp housing, there is a lens with long strips in it. that's the fly-eye #1. on the other side of it is another one, which most likely is burned due to excessive dust and heat) and needs to be replaced. i don't think sony sells individual parts, so you may have to send it back to them to repair.

Our sharp projector at church is really dim, the people who are giving us quotes say we have burned the lens and we should get a new projector. They are saying this without actually looking at the...

they are half right. most likely it's the #2 fly-eye lens. there are 2 lenses just after the lamp that evenly disperse the light. the second one burns frequently in dusty conditions. but they're wrong in saying you need to get a new projector, but you do need to take it down. the part itself is about $170. add labor and it's a little over $300. now you need to decide which route you want to go, repair or replace?

to avoid this problem with the other one, when you go up to get this one, clean out the other one with canned air. dust is bad.

either the light filter before the blue lcd is fried or the 2nd fly-eye lens is. take the lamp out and shine a flashlight through the glass in the projector. if you see blackened burn marks on the other side of the glass, the fly-eye lens is burnt and needs replacing (but is currently out of stock). if not, it's the lcd light filter (which is in stock).

NEC VT 460 LCD Panels & Fly Eye Lens

HI there

Firstly this ghosting image will NEVER be caused by your LCD's , so do not take them out.

Have you tried using a different cable ?

If you have and the problem still occurs , you will have to look at replacing the Mainboard.

if the focus motor does not work, the motor could be bad. or because it is an lcd projector, it could be the fly-eye lens or the light filter is singed and need replacing. also try matching resolution with source.
