Question about Chaintech 9CJS ZENITH Motherboard
Power supply will not turn on afterafter a change in the AC line cord. A few days later the unit turns on normally. I never know if or when the computer will turn on after i shut down
I've ran into this before with computers turning on sometimes and other times not turning on. Sometimes even totally dead computers.
Her is what I would suggest.
Get a known good working power supply and try that and see if that takes care of the problem. It can possibly be that there might be some bad capacitors in the power supply that are faulty enough to cause intermittent problems.
If that doesn't take care of the problem then go ahead and reseat the CPU and memory as this can cause problems like this as well.
Also if this doesn't work, only hook up the power to the motherboard, meaning the main connector and the p4 connector. Try turning it on and do this a number of times and see if you can get the machine to turn on and off the way you want.
If you can then you know its another component that is causing problems, and at that point it could be the hard drive, dvd drive or any other pieces of hardware thats in there.
If you can't get the computer to turn on the way you want even just hooking up the bare minimums then the motherboard is going bad on you.
