I have been very successful in retail fro many years. Staying very honest and leading by example is the first step to success. Your customers always come first and deserve the best care and consideration from you and your staff. Always give complete and fair answers to questions or concerns and when you do not have the answer, quickly do the necessary research to gain the knowledge you need. Always be ready to step up and help your staff understand what is expected from them, be ready to teach when they need help. I always had staff count their till drawer with me and make sure it balanced. Have a printed report from the till/computer to follow so you can identify errors. Always be conscious of security and keep money locked in the safe unless you are in an office area where you can close the door. Implement a fair but strict expectation that the counts balance. Be compassionate as surprises can happen to anyone.

I am a supervisor, when I cover someone else's shift who is on a lower rates of pay should I get there rate of pay. I feel so should I have been informed first.


depends on your employer attitude to decency
you are employed at a rate of pay to do the job of supervisor
I an employee on a lower rate of pay doesn't come to work and you have to fill in , you are still employed as a supervisor and the pay rate should not drop while you are covering a shift
That is why you should be in a union so that it can be sorted out
The next question you should be asking is --if you act in a higher position while a manager is absent will you get the higher rate of pay for that position
If the answer is no then you should not get less for a lower paid position either

What's to do on an aircraft carrier, off duty wise. Is there any place to spend your money? Clubs, or dinners, a mini fast food franchise?


first, there is not much off duty time. most people either stand watch and work 12 hours a day.
in the other 12 you usually sleep, work out, read, watch movies, play cards. there are no clubs or diners. four meals a day are provided and there is a "Gedunk", the Navy equivalent of a small 7-11.

call the phone company and they will either unlock it for you or have u come into the store to get it fixed. DO NOT KEEP TRYING TO UNLOCK IT. if u try to many times, you will completly get locked out and will have to get a brand new sims card

My 99 yammy xjr1300 jumps out of second gear


Unfortunatly sounds like a bent selector shaft or worn gear dogs ..,which means large sums of money to get fixed.One option is to skip second and double shift to third,Yeah it's a pain but it"s cheaper but go easy on the clutch, have some revs on the clock before the change.......Chow.
