Some do have one, but i would check if you have burnt out fuse should be right next to the unite or a blown circuit breaker

Carrier outside Unit will not power on. Every 45 sec's to a 1min it will make a humming sounds like its trying to power on but wont. The fan unit inside will come on but will not disburse cold air

You probably have a bad run capacitor in your outside unit. You will need to cal a service tech to test and replace it, until then turn your system off until it is repaired. Continuing to try to run it will over heat the compressor and fan motor and cause them damage.

My air conditioner has stop working its blowing air inside but the fan is not spinning outside .....

If the fan is not running is the compressor not running also...if neither is running the possible reasons are 1..no power to outside unit...2..bad contactor on outside unit.is this buzzing if it is this indicates no power...3 bad capacitor,do both compressor and fan humm then quit humming and hum some more...4 high pressure switch has shut unit down because fan wasnt running if compressor was running but not fan....if your unit has this there will be a manual reset button where the lines come out of unit...if compressor was running and fan was not...1 bad fan...2 bad capacitor.. if you do not have any electrical knowhow i would recommend calling a hvac tech to come and fix unit...Thanks

Compressor fan cycles on and off .1986 carrier mo#38eh0363300l

Usually compressors cycle on and off due to the low preasure switch which disconects the compressor when their is a freeon leak. Put the gages on it and see if the preasures are correct.

Compressor fan and compressor not running new 2 yr old system puron

No power to outside unit. Check to see if contactor on outside unit is pulled in. Most AC units inside have float switch. When the drain stops up it shuts off outside unit. Located in overflow or underneath unit. No Problem Rusty

Carrier home ac system

sounds like your contactor is stuck closed. This is the part that high voltage connects to and lets power through to the compressor and condenser fan motor when you get a call for cooling. If you go to pull it out, kill the power outside AND at the furnace.

I have a carrier infinity system. On the thermostat it reads "sens error" where the outdoor temp is normally displayed. The inside unit is running but the outside unit is not. Any suggestions?

A burned or pitted contactor will/can cause a unit to not run. Outside fan. Just thinking out loud. Start with low voltage check at t.stat then check outside low volt. Set t.stat to on. If fan engages at least your transformer is good. Next set calling for cool. Drop t.stat 68-70. If nothing happens go outside and with a screwdriver depress the contactor in. If fan and compressor kicks in change the contactor. If contactor is pulled in check outside fan. Remove the wires from the compressor and see if the fan will run . If it does you have eliminated start components as good. The compressor has to be check. It needs to be ohmed out. Turn off power at disconnect. Pull the cover on the compressor. Check between pins; then pins to ground. Open or infinite is good.Have you checked fuses. Like small 3-5 amp fuses

Fan on the inside is running but the compressor fan on the outside is not running

First check the breaker for the outside unit. Turn it off and then back on. If this does not work, I believe it to be one of the following common issues. I listed them from cheapest to repair to the more expensive.

1) Bad start/run capacitor
2) Bad exhaust fan motor
3) Bad Compressor
4) any combination of the above
