SOURCE: My Wolverine External hard drive make this funny

Are you sure you have the correct power supply? This can happen if not enough current, as required by the unit, is being supplied to the drive.

SOURCE: I am trying to hook

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions, DE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all electrical power and data to travel through every working device its and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
make sure your ram and cmos battery are securely seated with no dust in sockets
hope this will help

Needle not picking up bobbin thread and it makes funny loud noise

Sometimes both symptoms are a result of a bent, dull, or damaged needle. Try installing a brand new needle.

If it is still not picking up the bobbin thread and making a noise, take it for service. It most likely has a needle/hook timing issue and the noise could be the needle making contact with the needleplate or in the bobbin area. Continued use could cause the needle to break and flying pieces of needle, in most cases, are not a good thing.

Sounds like your computer is overheating. If you have used it for some time, the extractor fan can get sticky dust on, and slow it down so the computer overheats. Try using a vacuum cleaner nozzle on the air vent to shift it
If not, a 'funny' noise can more seriously be a hard drive about to fail. You need to run a diagnostic test to check that

Doesn't want to go onto spin cycle just makes funny noises

Possible that there is slippage when the program comes to the spin mode. Please check the drive and see if the belt is slipping or the drive is jammed. If not check the motor drive.

WD WD1200B008-RNN not recognized by laptop/desktop

I had a similar problem with some other brand of external drive. I disconnected it without being stopped and then nothing would recognize it. It was new when this happened, I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a files with software and instructions to recover it. It was not that easy since I'm no computer geek, it took quite a while but finally the drive worked again. Info was lost since I had to formated it, can't remember exactly is low level formatting but alive again.
Also try to go to my computer icon on the desktop and right click, go to "manage" there you'll see an option for disk management, there you might be lucky and make it work again.
Hope this helps, regards.

I plugged in the device into my computer and it is not showing up in my computer. It is also making a funny sound

If you external hard disk is making a funny or cracking noise, It simply means that the hard disk is bad and it cannot be repaired. It is also almost difficult to retrieve information stored in it except you see a specialist but i have tried it many a time but was unsuccessful.

Is it an external drive?

If it is, open the external hard drive cover, remove the hard disk inside, and fix it back. Try again and let's see what happens.

If it still does not work, insert the external drive into the computer, feel the hard drive if it spins/vibrate from inside or if it makes a cracking noise.

If it spins/vibrate, it means the hard disk is still working. In that case, you have to get another external drive case/cover.

But if it makes cracking noise, then it means the hard drive is damaged and you need to get another one.

Lastly, if its not an external drive, the same applies because, its still all about hard drive.

I wish you all the best.
