Question about Cell Phones
This might just be a dead iPhone, but there are steps to find out if still works.
First, try plugging it into a charger, let it charge for about 5 minutes, then hold the "home" button and the standby button at the same time for 5-10 seconds. (home button is the one on the front, standby button is the one on the top).
If it vibrates or starts displaying a battery it should be fine and you can let it charge for a while and then start it up.
If this does not work, try plugging the cable into your phone, and while holding the home button plug it into your PC via cable. This should put your phone in recovery mode and might delete the data on your phone, but this will also fix the iPhone if the problem is in the software of the iPhone.
if none of those solutions work you should go to an apple store and either let them repair it or try to start it up themselves. Check if you still have a warranty on it.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Holding the buttons doesn't restart the phone it puts it in dfu mode so it can be restored or programmed. Hold home and power together for 6 secs. then release power until itunes sees the phone then you can restore.

First thing to do is check the water indicator.
Look directly down the headphone socket on the iphone, using a light you should see a white marker (or red if it's water damaged)
If it's still white take it back to apple and get a new one (if it's still under warranty.)
If it's red and you need a new one, the options are:
Ebay or get a pay as you go iPhone with no contract and unlock it (expensive but no contract)
