Question about Fisher and Paykel Washing Machines
Have a fisher and paykel MW511. Is filling up in short bursts (instead of continuous flow) and won't agitate at all even though it sounds like it's trying too. Will drain no problem, but won't spin. Lights flash 1 and 7 and makes a beeping noise. Anyone know what it is?

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hi just read your posting. Now with the error code you have shown it tells me you have an out of balance fault. To find out if the fault is with the out of balance switch or the motor controller you will need an electrical test meter. the reason for this is to test the switch for conductivity, not to test for power or anything dangerous.Have you or can you borrow an electrical test meter to test the switch?please reply and I can guide you throe the repair of this fault.

Hi just read you posting.Could you please confirm the fault code for me.1st push and hold the WASH TEMPERATURE DOWN button then press the POWER button until the machine gives you 2 short beeps, then release both buttons. Now press the SPIN UP or DOWN button until the HOLD and SLOW SPIN LEDs are both on.Now the fault code will appear in the WASH PROGRESS lights. Please reply to confirm which lights are lit.Are they the same as your 1st posting? To get back to normal operation turn machine off at the power point.Looking forward to your reply.

when they beep the main p.c.b bord has detected an error on the f/p series the main fault we have found with this is the small icb sensor that runs along side the capstan drive drum try cleaning it if this does not work try replacing the head control p.c.b bord

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is normally behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!
Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Hi - I will need the product number found on the sticker in the rear of the machine - the controls has been changed so it needs to be programmed to a 5Kg machine.
I cant help you without that information as there are about 6 methods of doing this, the product number will tell me which is the correct way.
