How do I connect a sound bar

I used a optical cable to connect my sound bar to the TV. You will need find out what audio outputs you have available - look at back of TV set, and use proper cable to make the connection between the TV audio output and the sound bar.
Also your manual that you receive with the sound bar may help also.
If no manual available go online to the manufacture of the sound bar and check out the manual there.
Also TV manual should point out the locations of audio outputs and the types that available.

LG blue ray won't play sound from RCA sound bar. HDMI cable is hooked into HDMi slot on TV

the details you provided were very vague, however from my experience when a device is connected to another device via and audio capable hdmi cable, that device renders it audio output to the device its connected to and normally turn off all other audio outputs beside optical- I would assume there is an option in the blue ray player to turn off hdmi audio, which will in turn activate other audio outputs- you may also look for audio out port on your tv, it is ideal to connect the sound bar directly to the tv set audio out ports. To sum this up,
if you plan to use your player via hdmi cable you need to turn off hdmi audio output on the blue ray player and the plug an audio cable from your blue-ray player to your sound bar
you may also as i said connect your sound bar directly to your tv, the issue is most tv sets now a days do not have an audio out port, if you do then everything you play thru your tv will have audio via sound bar
there are several way to go here but unless your sound bar has hdmi av switching capabilities (im sure not) this is one of the most simple--Good Luck.

I have just purchased a sharp HT-SB250 sound bar to go with my sharp 32" Aquos LED tv. The item came supplied with the RCA cable and having connected it to the sound bar and the audio connections in...

You have obviously connected the sound bar's RCA (red, and white) cables to the TV's IN jacks rather than the OUT jacks, OR you might have them connected to the RCA VIDEO jacks. Check it. Connect them to the TV's audio OUT jacks. Presumably, the inputs on the back of the TV are marked "audio out", and the IN connections from your sound bar must go into the OUT inputs on your TV. I can't imagine what else it could be causing the problem.

Need help connecting to surround sound to a vizio sound bar

hi,
did u mean connecting the sound bar to ur tv.
u didn't mentioned the model number of ur sound bar.
any how ur tv has only coaxial digital audio out. no analog audio out. the sound bar may have one digital audio input (optical digital input) and 2 analog inputs. if it has coaxial input it may be very easy.find is there, if not u cant link these devices.
if u are using a satellite receiver then u can connect the optical audio out to ur sound bar's optical input or the analog audio output to any one of the analog audio input.

I am attempting to attach a Samsung Sound Bar to my 42 inch LCD 1080P Polaroid Television. I can not seem to get sound from the Television connected to the Sound Bar. Thoughts?

Connect the audio out RCA jacks (white and red) on the TV to the white and red RCA input jacks on the sound bar for analog stereo sound or connect the black digital audio output jack (typically optical) on the TV rear panel to the sound bar's optical digital audio input jack for surround sound. Use an optical cable. There may be some user settings on the TV for audio.
