Question about Acer Aspire™ T180 PC Desktop
Ok everyone i will tell you whats wrong and how to fix it the problem is. Windows vista runs a sound driver when installed that does not work with real-tek high definition audio. You will have to download the driver from there website and install them to get any sound from your pcs. I have listed the link to there website driver download for high definition audio you must check the box next to accept and hit next pick your windows os and download it. Then install system should ask to reboot after install. I had to plug speakers into the front jack indicated for headphones. On the Acer T180 its the pale green hole on front of CPU. This only works for sound from the system itself and CDs. When I try to play DVDs, I get no sound from either outlet in the front or any of the outlets in the back. So, try the headphone jack in the front.

I had the exact problem. You need powered speakers, not ones that you just plug into the computer but ones that plug into the computer AND into a power supply as well. Now I have full sound.

YOU COULD CHECK YOUR SOUND DRIVERS MAKE SURE THERE UP TO DATE AND INSTALLED. I got one also, AFTER I
got windows to instal the drivers the sound worked fine.
To check the drivers use CONTROL PANEL ... ADD OR REMOVE HARDWARE ICON AND FOLLOW ITS INSTRUCTIONS

I had to download the realteck high definition audio driver to my computer after i did that the sound work.....why i should have to do that i don't know its brand new pc therefore is should be already updated....

1 st check u r audio driver is installed or not...
u can check it by following steps..
my computer right click/select properties/go to hardware /devicemanager/
if any ? mark wiht yello colour appear..it means u r driver is nit installed.....
u can ask u r dealer for u r computer motherboard cd ...u r cd contain all u r driver in it,,,,
if u r audio driver is properly installed then u can check u r volume settings.....may be u r speakers are mute or low volume.....
now u r problem is fixed.
