The problem seems to be electrical. When i push the water dispensor, it dispenses water ok. If i push cubed or crushed ice, the led light dims , also inside the fridge, the control panel leds go blank for approx 5 secs...it then resets, a small suction pop is heard at the dispensor and i can dispense water again. Again the ice bin is full of ice. It makes new ice. I have replaced the keypad, the ice dispensor motor and solenoid. After each part has been replaced, i have tested and have the same results. Oh i have also replaced the entire ice dispensor (bucket and auger assembly) too.

    Your help is appreciated. Jim

I already replaced part 369 dispensor motor and the solenoid also in that diagram. Also, the touchpad itself has been replaced. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hi,
Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer. There is a board on the front of the refrigerator for the ice/water functions. Sometimes, replacing this board fixes the problem. Mostly, the problem is in the main control board. In any case, both are easy repairs. But try to get it done by some mechanic if u r not able to do it.

Thanks

I am not sure if I understood the problem. Please bear with me as I try to provide solutions to common symptoms.

The Touchpad if it is not dispensing any water the issue may be the inlet valve may no longer be working correctly. This could be the faulty valve or no voltage is going through it cause it to not work properly. You may check the wiring for this one. The other is that the ice may have frozen.

The ice dispenser may not be dispensing ice because of a buildup of ice in the screw like piece in the dispenser. This prevents movement thus preventing ice to be dispensed. This may be caused by the freezer not cool enough since some ice will melt and eventually will turn to ice again but build up on the screws.

Could it be because of the ice build up that is why there is no motor movement? Check also the wiring for the motor if it is connected properly. You may have a shorted motor or the dispenser switch has shorted out.

Ice maker quit working but water dispenser still works, the reservoir to make cubes also empty.can you advise?

If the ice maker tray is empty you may have a water valve failure. usually this unit have a dual valve 1 for the dispenser the other one for the ice maker some time a side fail and the entire solenoid have to be replace. the ice maker can also be bad. an easy way for you to test if ice maker is good is by putting water manually inside the ice maker tray depending on how cold is your frig wait about 2 hrs or less if the ice maker cycles and drop ice then water solenoid is the problem if not then replace ice maker.

Ice dispenser solenoid continually clicks

If the ice maker is working ok and you can live with the noise leave it alone. Eventually the solenoid will fail.

Don't worry though it's an easy fix. You'll need to replace both the ice maker and the water dispenser solenoids. They're located behind the hardboard cover on the lower right side (looking at the back of the refrigerator), where the water comes in.

Parts are under $50 and the job should easily take less than 1 hour.

Water dispenser and ice maker don't work

You have a bad water filter housing. Be sure to turn of the water to the refrigerator before replacing this part. Replace the filter at the same time.

Water dispenser on front of refrigerator door does not dispense water. Ice Cube maker continues to make ice cubes. Defrosting doesn't fix problem.

Water dispensing solenoid is bad. You need to replace the solenoid valve. This typically is independent of the ice maker.

The ice maker and water dispenser does not work. There is no power to the exterior dispensing unit on the refrigerator.

I'm assuming you are saying there is no ice and water being dispensed, but that the ice maker is producing ice.

Actual ice maker operation is independent of the fountain which is for dispensing only.

The power is checked at the fountain board on wires Red/Black and White. The door must be closed when doing this check as power goes through the door switch. If no power is present, check the same wires at the connector under the upper door hinge cover.

The next check would be Red/Black to Blue while depressing the actuator pad button.

Outputs off the board are Pink to auger motor, Black to fountain water valve, other Black to fountain light, Violet to cube solenoid, the two brown wires go to the ice chute door solenoid.

The ice maker can be checked by removing the plastic cover up front. Check test points L to N for 120VAC. Short test points T and H to cycle the ice maker. Make sure it does not have ice or water in the mold already, or it will run over.

Of course last but not least, check water to the refrigerator. It is a dual valve and unlikely both solenoids could fail at the same time.

Ice maker not working

The icemakers won't make ice if the temperature is not below a certain set point. Varies between manufacturers. Try making the temp colder.

Water dispenser fine but ice maker not working

Hi. A good way to check the ice maker water solenoid valve is to swith the wire lead from the dispenser water solenoid valve to the ice maker water solenoid valve. Now push the water dispenser lever and water should come out your ice maker fill tube. If not, either the fill tube is frozen or the ice maker water solenoid valve is bad. Take the 1/4 inch tube that runs up the back of your freezer off at the ice maker water solenoid valve and blow thru it. If you can't, the tube is frozen. If you can, the valve is bad. Good luck, Mack

Ice maker does not dispense cubes

THE SOLENOID IN THE ON THE ICE MAKER MOTOR IS NOT WORKING IT HAS ICE BUILD UP ON IT OR IT HAS A SHORT IT PULLS THE PLUNGER THAT OPENS THE FLAP THAT LET ICE CUBES FALL OUT. REMOVE ICE MAKER AND THER ARE 2 5/16 SCREWS THAT HOLD PANEL IN THEN UN PLUG MOTOR AND USE HAIR DRYER & DEFROST MOTOR AND SOLENOID SHOULD WORK IF NOT MAY NEED TO REPLACE SOLENOID.
