SOURCE: Maytag washer PAV2300 water over flow

I had the same problem and went out to a website for Maytag washers. That website advised that the problem could be mechanical or electrical. In my case, the problem was a clogged tube and it took only ten or fifteen minutes to fix.
0. Unplug the machine.
1. Open up the front of the washer. Along the left hand side is a long transparent tube. The tube connects to a wallet size container on the side and near the bottom of the tub.
2. Inspect the transparent tube. It may be clogged where the tube meets the wallet sided container.
Note: When the tub is full, it creates pressure in that wallet size compartment which sends air up that tube to a pressure switch located within the panel at the top of the washer. The pressure switch flips and tells the machine - stop filling the tub with water. My machine had a visible clog in the bottom of the tube that carries the air from the bottom of the tub up to the pressure switch.
3. Disconnect the tube and clean. I used a pipecleaner to get most of the mold out. To completely clear the tube, remove the top panel and disconnect the tube from the pressure switch in the top panel and blow air down the tube.
4. Reconnect, test - and you should be good to go. If not, your pressure switch may be dead.

After my toilet fill valve shuts off, water continues sipping into tank slowly. This causes water continuously overflow through overflow tube.

check that the fill valve was installed correctly
adjust the float level so that when full the cistern water level is around 1/2" below the over flow pipe end
what you have now is that the inlet water is not being shut off correctly and the water is still coming in and flowing out of the overflow

What causes fuel to run out of the carb on a Kohler xt149-0316 engine

Dirt in float bowl, and it causes float not to settle back down.so the needle valve will not shut off fuel flow. The needle valve is on the bottom of float, when it gets enough of fuel the float rises and shuts off fuel until it needs more. God-BLESS! You may have to reset float.

How do I increase the water flow into the tank of a Verona toilet

1.) Check to make sure that the water shut-off valve is all the way open (the water valve a.k.a. the shut-off valve is located behind the toilet near the wall or the floor, depending upon installation placement.) The water supply line attaches to it and feeds up into the refill valve assembly inside the toilet tank.
2.) Check the float assembly or the refill valve assembly, make sure it hasn't bound up by getting caught on another part inside the tank.
3.) Check the water level to make sure that it sits about 1 inch below the overflow tube in the middle of the tank. If the water is lower, adjust the float inside the tank to raise the water level. For models that have a ball float, turn the screw on top of the fill valve clockwise to raise the water level. For models that contain a cylinder float valve attached to the fill valve, squeeze the clip on the side of the float and pull the float up until the water reaches the desired level.

Why is my carburetor leaking fuel after I turn off my motor

It is most likely that your shut off valve is leaking (as fuel flow should be shut off with no vacuum applied to it). If the float level is okay, and it must be set very precisely at 0.413 - 0.453 inches with the carb tilted no more than 20 degrees and no less than 15 degrees, (if the float level is the problem such that the fuel supply would be too high in the float bowl and depending on how far out it is set ie how high the fuel is allowed to rise in the float bowl it would likely be leaking out the overflow and not the carburetor itself). As unlikely as it would be to have fuel flowing out the accelerator pump circuit and discharge port you would easily be able to identify such a leak by seeing it flow out of the accelerator pump discharge port in the front part of the carb throat. If the needle and seat are not sealing and fuel flow was available from the shut off valve as it should not be with no vacuum applied to it then it would not matter that the float level was set correctly because it would continue to flow past the needle ans seat when the float had risen to the proper shut off point. In this case it might leak out of the main discharge port before the level became high enough for it to leak out of the overflow or it might leak out both. It is doubtful that a defective enrichener would cause a leak because the fuel would have to rise to high to emerge from the enrichener discharge ports. It might leak out the off idle discharge ports but these are behind the venturi piston and the butterfly valve so you would have to raise the former and open the latter to see if fuel was emerging from these ports. I have not dealt much with H-D CV carbs but my understanding of them leads me to suggest the above. SO, a leaking carb with the engine shut off is most likely to be a result of a defective fuel tank valve so first remove the fuel hose from the shut off valve and see if there is fuel draining from the nipple at the valve or if you take it off at the carb if there is any fuel leaking out of the fuel line you removed from the carb.....There should be no fuel flow with the engine off and no vacuum. If there is no fuel flow here there should be no fuel flow from the carb unless the float level is out and the fuel level in the float bowl has risen too high before the fuel valve shut of fuel flow. Even so the fuel leak should not be continuous but only as much as there was fuel in the fuel line and carb downstream of the shut off valve. If the leak is continuous you know the valve is the first problem and then you also have a float level setting that is out allowing too much fuel into the float bowl and/or the needle and seat are not sealing and shutting off the flow when the float rises to the proper shut off height. Or, you could have a gasket leak at the float bowl. If there is no fuel flow from the fuel shut off valve and the float level is correct there likewise should be no flow from the accelerator pump (or any other circuit) because the fuel level would never be high enough to flow out the discharge the accelerator discharge or other ports. Remember that the accelerator pump check valve only operates when the fuel is being forced out of the accelerator pump circuit ie the valve does not stop or control fuel flow into the accelerator pump diaphragm area, it only stops flow back to the float bowl area when fuel is being pressurized to force fuel up and out the discharge port. I hope this helps somewhat in diagnosing your leak.

Switch dishwasher on and starts up ok but when it comes to pumping water in it stops and does not do anything else.

Hello

Investigate these five areas if your dishwasher won't fill with water:

As water is filling your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. When the float reaches a predetermined level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Check your float assembly. Replace it if you need to.

The water that fills your dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with your dishwasher's filling ability.

Your dishwasher may not be filling with water simply because the water valve's filter screens are dirty and debris-filled. Gain access to your water inlet valve and try cleaning it out. This might be enough to solve the problem. You can learn how to access your water inlet valve in the replace a dishwasher water inlet valve section.

Alternatively, your water inlet valve could be defective altogether. That could be the reason your dishwasher is not filling. Test it for continuity. If it is not functioning as it should, replace it.

Your dishwasher's drain valve is regulated by a drain solenoid. If the solenoid is malfunctioning, it may not allow the drain valve to funtion properly, which in turn could be the reason your dishwasher is not filling with water. Investigate your drain valve and test the solenoid. If the solenoid is faulty, replace it.

My Kenmore Portable Dishwasher model number 665.17769K600 will not fill with water, I have to manually fill with water and it will then work. What could be causing this?

Hi

When the Dishwasher is not filling in, you'll need to check for the water inlet valve, the filter screen and the float switch/assembly. Also check for the float assembly inside the dishwasher. When water is filling your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages.
If these are fine then it's due to Water Inlet Valve. Use a multimeter and check for the continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly.

Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

What causes the cold water in a washer machine to come out real slow?

Hi

This may be either due to blocked inlet hose or low water pressure. If the inlet valve seems to be fine then make sure that the filter screen is clear & clean. If these are fine then it's due to Water Inlet Valve. Use a multimeter and check for the continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. Hope this helps... Increase water in toilet tank-low flush Toto toilet

Yes adjust the float level to raise the amount of water in the tank, If you have a float that is a ball around the tank you will have to turn the water off and remove the hose from the tank and remove the nut then pull the water float device out and you will see a clap on the bottom of the float you will turn the float base so that it gets longer, increase it by two inchess so that you increase water flow. Reinstall into the tank hook it all back up and leave the lid off turn on the water and watch the water level rise be sure the float shuts the water off before it over flows, if it starts to over flow then fush it to bring the water down giving you enought time to shut off the water valve.
There is a problem adding low water systems to older septic systems. The septic pipe settles in the ground over time and may cause a ~~~ in the pipe thus causeing blockage. For future reference you can add a one gallon bottle of water in the tank like a milk jug or a used up bottle of puerified water that you have drank and this will decrease it by one gallon per flush. Hope this helps. If you need more asstance just posttothis reply!
