Acts like the blades bog down and won't turn after turning off the fan for the night. Have cleaned it but still won't start without spinning the blades manually. Do I need to oil the shaft or what?

I have an older Vornado 280B (it looks just like the current 730 series with the small stand). I've been able to remove the front grill & clean it and the blades, but now I'd like to remove the rear grill from the motor so I can clean the rear grill. How do I do this? Thanks!
