SOURCE: ooops I charged my 12v lawn tractor battery with 6v...is there anyway to revive

This should not have caused a problem. Recharging on a trickle charger won't hurt, however, I suspect you could have a dead cell, in which case, it will not hold a charge no matter what. I would be looking into buying a new battery.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: tractor battery drains charge

Get a battery switch rated for your battery (amps), put on the positive battery lead. With the right size wire you can mount this where ever it's convenient. When you turn off the ignition turn off the battery switch also each time and no more battery drain.

SOURCE: Check charging system

So you have a new alternator. I S IT CHARGING ? If the answer is yes , and the battery still dies, I would say there is a 12 volt drain in the electrical system. Hope this helps

SOURCE: new battery and alternator. Battery still won't hold charge

Check all your fuses if you had a system failure it could have blown a fuse. I am not sure on your vehicle where the fuse is in the car or under the hood it could also have a relay. You can check your alternator by checking the voltage at the back of the alternator where the big wire bolts on. You should have 14+ volts at the alternator.

check the voltage at the battery when its running if its charging below 13.5 volts then you have a bad alternator or charging system not working properly

After every cutting the battery will not hold a charge. Why?

battery's typically don't last over four seasons (new) even less if its left outside in the freezing cold if your battery is older than that , id say your due a new one ,a simple hack is to have your tractors charging system ck'd by a service station(some even advertise doing it for free ) , tractors use a similar system as cars do to maintain there batterys (but smaller) so the same equipment that helps to diagnose cars works the same on tractors

Husqvarna riding mower gth2448 won't engage blades after stopping or going in reverse. engine dies and have to recharge batter to get it started. New battery.

Check and make sure your charging system is working. You should be seeing between 12.6 - 13.2 volts at the battery terminals with engine running at full throttle. Frequent starting and stopping, the tractor does not allow the charging system to properly bring battery up to full state of charge. New battery or not, I've bought defective batteries in the past. I would recommend load testing the battery to ensure that it is not a defect.

Gx75 not charging

a lawn mower battery is only good for a couple years when keeping it charged and testing voltage doesn't tell you what is has for amps is the volt meter read more than the off voltage while running then it works they only have a 4-7 amp charging system

My lawn tractor died and now is readind dead but the battery is new

Sounds like your charging system is burnt out or your battery cables wheren't tight enough when you reinstalled your new battery and as soon as you started it the first time and you ran the battery down it didn't charge, take the cables back off and clean them greese them up and put them back on and tight them up and charge the battery up and you should be good to go

My garden tractor is not holding it's battery charge. I replaced the battery, but still doesn't hold a charge after I use it.

If you replaced the battery with a new one and it is not holding a charge, then your charging system is not putting out enough power to run the mower AND recharge the battery. So you need to figure what is wrong in the charging system.

My Craftsman 4000 dyt lawn tractor's electric clutch went out and when it locked up it choked the motor down....now everything is dead, there is not and "juice" going to the starter, the headlights will...

Sounds like the machine stopped charging, usually caused by a faulty rectifier/regulator or a bad connection to it.Try either charging the battery for an hour or so or you can put booster cables from your car to it and then if everything is ok you need to fix the charging system,or replace the battery[once they are sulphated they will not take a charge even if the charge system works].Check the connections to the battery as well and if you can test the tractor when it is running and see if the voltage stays between 14 and 15 volts.Let me know how you make out.

The battery charge light is always on. how to fix this problem and will it hurt to run like this

It means the alternator isn't charging the battery. The problem could be in the alternator, the rectifier/regulator, or as simple as a wire that is disconnected. Take a look for simple things like a loose connector in those areas. It won't hurt the tractor to use it like this, but after a few startups and runs your battery will be discharged and you won't be able to start. You would have to put the battery on a charger from time to time until the charging system is fixed.

John Deere 160T lawn tractor's new battery will not stay charged.

Check to see if you a voltage regulator on the left side of engine cover.Three wires going to it.If you dont you have a 3 amp charging system and they are known for going bad and discharging your battery. If you have an external regulator replace it.
