Question about Apple iPod touch - digital player - iOS 6
Posted by Anonymous on
Depends on the iPod model you have:
iOS 6 runs only on iPod Touch 4. Gen. !
For the iPod Touch before iOS 5 to update is only possible with connecting the device to iTunes on a computer. Plug it into your computer and open up itunes under devices click on your ipad and then click on check for update.

If you are updating in the 4.3 range, it is possible you will have to change your host files. Go to the terminal, and type in the following command (without the quotations of course): "sudo nano /private/etc/hosts" and then select the apple website and delete it then save with control x and then in terminal type this " dscacheutil -flushcache" and try again!
