Alice, Turn the machine off and hold the reverse button for 3-5 seconds. Turn the machine back on and test to see if the machine will sew forward. If the problem persists, Contact Brother Customer Service for further troubleshooting by calling 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Also internet search "Brother SQ900 stuck in reverse" some good videos on this problem.
Multiple the length (inches) by the width (inches) = sq. inches.
Not quite sure what you attempting to do. Usually, a quilt is measured length for the length of the bed, and width for the width of the bed (and add any additional to drape down over the edge).
there two holes on the side plate where the presser ft bar is located. take off the rubber cover and a screw will be visible. this screw controls the presser ft. height and angle of ft. place ft all the way down and cnter needle in foot slot and them tighten screw. use an long screw driver because u get more leverage. in fact long screwdrivers are the only thing to use on machines. every one should be ground to fit the different screws. anyway raise the foot to see how much clearence u have and adjust accordingly.
do u have an automatic machine meaning ft is lifted by pressing ft pedal a certain dirtection. otherwise tilt machine and push knee lever. there should be a flat oval piece on top of lever rod. does it rise straight? it needs to contact the push rod on the machine presser ft. see if the line up by lowering the machine slightly. if not bend rod to aglin. your knee lift may need adjustment too and maybe the presser ft screw located by removing the rubber plug on side of machine or take off the plate by removing 3 screws. careful with gasket cause machine will leak if u tear gasket.. presser ft screw is easy to find. lower ft and tighten. make sure that the needle is centered in foot slot when adjusting presser ft screw. otherwise thread will break when needle hits side of presser ft. a very common problem that many do know about and someday i will charge the site. 35 years with juki and still going strong.
