If the joystick is in "sleep" mode, lights will sweep slowly when you turn it on. If that is the case, turn it off, then back on again, and depress the horn button three times to wake it up. If that doesn't work, then you probably have a faulty joystick, or some other component.

This is taken from the owner's manual from the 1121 with a VSI controller:

I suggest you print this out and keep it handy.

How can i unlock a joystick that is in lock mode?


Hello.Here is a solution from:SHOPRIDER SERVICE MANUAL 2007 1-800-743-0772 Page 20 of 36 pages:
To unlock the Powerchair controller.
Use the on/off button to switch the controller on.The maximum speed/profile indicator will be rippling up and down.
Push the joystick forward until the controller bleeps.
Push the joystick inn reverse until the controller bleeps
Release the joystick,there will be a long bleep.
The powerchair is now unlocked.

Unlock a lock-out control panel for a jazzy 614hd


To unlock the VSI:

1. Press the on/off key and power on the VSI. The maximum speed/profile indicator should ripple side to side.

2. Push the joystick to the full forward position until the VSI beeps.

3. Pull the joystick to the full rearward position until the VSI beeps.

4. Release the joystick. There should be a long beep.

5. The VSI is now unlocked.
