Question about Honda 2007 Pilot LX

Open Question

2007 honda pilot trouble code P0420 light goes on and then after about 40 or 50 miles goes off and continues that way but drives great.

If this the catalytic converter would the check engine light continue to go on and off?

SOURCE: Check Engine Light on 2000 Honda Odyssey

The problem with an aftermarket catalytic convertor is the quality of the material that is in them. Used factory Honda convertors can be sold for 75 dollars. A used aftermarket catalytic convertor will sell for 5 dollars. If u truely want to fix this problem, you need to save up for a new Honda convertor and buy it.

I would send the car for a smoke test for the emissions leak...Find out where the leak is comming from..Repair it..Reset the codes, then do a drive cycle and see what happens...

After driving my 2007 honda pilot for about 25 to 30 miles the engine light comes on then VSA light comes on then I lose power.SO I shut it off the car & have to wait a while then I can drive a li

Why did you not leave the vehicle at a repair shop or dealer
to be properly diagnosed & repaired

Any time you get any dash light on after the motor is running I
check for codes that day & get on with the required checking
& resolving within days or use another vehicle

You should stop using a vehicle with check lights & faults
& forget the free codes checks at the parts stores

Always use a professional scan tool & look at all data real time
generic & enhanced something a code read won't do & go for
a long road test with the scan along

Cylinder misfires will ruin an expensive exhaust converter
as will vacuum leaks, leaking injectors etc.

Today's vehicles need to be 100% or parked or you create
problems,do damage, run up your repair costs & shorten the
life of the vehicle all thanks to the Govt Emission non-sense

Trouble code P0420, what it means? It is intermittent signal. the light "check engine

It's an O2 sensor telling you there is a catalyst problem. It could be the sensor or the converter itself. Have you been using cheap gas? Cheap fuel will do the same effect.

This is a flag to let you know the onboard diagnostics have sensed a problem. No way to know what the problem is till you have the trouble code(s) retrieved from the computer by a professional with a scanner. The parts store scanners will not be able to access transmission computer trouble codes.Good Luck!

Mhy wife jus drove 200 miles and the the maintance light came on We're 300 miles away from my next oil change in my 2007 honda pilot. Could she get home without a problem?

Sure she can drive it. That light is only a reminder for you to service the vehicle, not a warning. Red lights are warning lights that need immediate attention. Yellow lights are reminders.

Blinking green drive light

There is some problem with your transmission, get an engine analyser then you can see the error code i.e. telling the problem faced.

Trouble shooting P0420 code, bank 1, OBD II for 2000'?

misfiring can cause a P0420 code.
I would recommend a set of honda plug wires and plugs if the P0420 code returns.
I have used bolt in aftermarket bolt in catalytic converters but don't remember the brand name they fit ok and i have had 1 or 2 return with a P0420 code out of about 20. I have never replaced the oxygen sensor on a civic like yours.
I always fix the misfire problems, reset the computer, and have the customer drive it and see if the code p0420 returns. 50% don't have the P420 code return. drive it and see what happens and go from there.
