Coffee just does not get very hot

I am having a problem with the temperature. my machine only gets the coffee to 140F i checked the hot water wand temp and it reaches 190F I hate the fact i need to put my fresh brewed coffee in the microwave to heat it up to drink it. Can I hack the internal thermostat? I just descaled the machine to see if this will help. No go?

Hi Jowen,

How often has you descale your machine?
I think the problem is your boiler, if you have calcium in the boiler then you not get hot water from it:-(

First check the nozzle at the end of the steam wand, if you have hot water for coffee then you should have something coming out of the steam wand. If the wand is not blocked and the pressure is low then the thermostat might need to be replaced.

We have a 4 month old gaggia titanium. Today, the steam wand stopped working. (It makes coffee just fine.) I've cleaned the steam wand. When I turn the steam dial, very little steam comes out and I hear a...

Sounds like the steam wand is getting blocked some where either at the metal end or in the parnello wand if you machine has one at the end of the steam wand, if both of those are clean then try this push in on the steam knob if that works then tap rod assemble or steam valve needs to be replaced, make sure to ask about the stainless steel valve instead of the plastic one.

Why does steam wand on dualit espresso leak

The wand can leak if the rocker switch is not in the UP position.

In MIDDLE position it will try to deliver hot water.

In DOWN position it will try to deliver steam.

The thermoblock in this unit is actually a 3-way valve, of which two positions route water from the boiler directly to the wand. The 3rd position (UP) routes hot water (but not steam) from the boiler to the group head.

Try holding the switch in the UP position by hand when making coffee. If the machine still pushes water through the wand then you will have to replace the switch inside the machine that is activated by the rocker, or the valve it operates.

Please let me know how it goes.

The steamer on our Espresso machine is not working

Try using a paperclip or needle to clear out the holes on the end of the steam wand. That will usually work if when you turn on the wand it is hot to the touch and you can still get hot water from the coffee spout.

Please help

The Magic Comfort Plus machine has a selection for the temp through the menu for the three sizes of coffees buttons. Using the menu button, scroll through until you come to temp section, then select the coffee size button and and change the temp, example-- Select maximum. Press the menu button to set it.

If that does not help, when a machine gets full of calcium (needs descaling) that also will lower the temp. You might have to descale it three-four times.

And remember, when you descale, run the solution through the steam/hot water wand and also the espresso/coffee dispensing nozzle. Only doing it through the steam wand (like the manual says) will only do 1/2 of the machines water sections!!! I usually run 1 cup of solution through the steam wand and 3-4 cups through the espresso dispenser.

No steam coming out of heating nozzle for Wega

Remove the nozzle on the end of the steam wand, them open valve to see if the steam wand works, if yes use a paper clip to clear holes on nozzle, if no remove steam wand where it is connected to the valve then open wand(steam will be spraying be careful). If you have steam there then clean wand and nozzle.

Do you get coffee? If it is just no water/steam, could be a blockge in the steam wand, or blockage in water lines. First test easy one - the steam wand. If the steam wand is o.k- then check for blockages in water lines/components ( pump, boiler, steam boiler). If you do not feel confortable with testing all the untis where water flows, contact Saeco USA Inc. to locate a Service Center near you at 800-933-7876 (toll-free), ask for customer support, or contact SAECO via e-mail at :

The streamer on my x1 has stopped working, the machine produces coffee but no stream is coming out when the stream button is switched on

Several things I would check here. How old is your machine? Is the coffee coming out hot enough? If not, then perhaps the boiler is not reaching optimum working temperatures and needs replacing. When did you last descale your unit? If you live somewhere where there is a lot of hard water, and you don't prefilter it, then it could be scale build up in the tube. Try soaking only the tube end of the wand in some vinegar for about an hour, then try flushing it with steam once again. Finally, one has to be dilligent in CLEANING the steam spout right after you use it, EACH AND EVERY TIME! (that is why you almost always see barristas with a damp cloth over their shoulder, ready to use). Milk left on the wand will bake on and become quite hard to remove. This will happen on the outside as well as inside the tube. Soak the end of the tube with boiling hot water for about 10 minutes, wipe the end clean, and with a fine wire or pin clean the inside of the steam wand tube. You may have to repeat this procedure several times to fully clean the wand. If you are at all mechcanical, you could take your machine apart, remove the wand, and soak/clean it separately. But only do this if you are a quite confident handy person. Hope this helps and good luck!
