In Run/Mat screen, press the OPTN key followed by F6, the F3:Prob. The nPr and nCr tab are accessible. Type n then the relevant tab, followed by the r-number.

Make sure you use the larger number for n. If r is larger than n, then you will always get 0. For example, to determine the number of possible five-card poker hands, calculate 52 C 5 and not 5 C 52.

If you have an older version on the TI30x Solar (not TI30Xa or newer) then you must use a different key sequence for nPr/nCr.

On calculators you calculate permutations and combinations as follows

Enter the number n then press key nPr, and the number r

1**8(nPr)5=1028160**

For combinations, use nCr key instead of nPr.

**18(nCr)5=8568.**
