RCA DTA800B1 stops scanning channels at 20%.Unable to contact RCA

I have DTA800B1 RCA and my scanners stops scanning at 20%.
This happened right after going full digital TV.
I have three of these DTA800B1 and two of them stop scanning at 20%. I tried different TV's and that doesn't work.

The www.1800customersupport.com/RCA website wants you to pay money. I have no way to send RCA an email or anything.

SOURCE: The remote for my RCA DTA800B1 Digital TV

Depends on Brand, Type, and Date of manufacture for the universal remote. Alway best to buy a remote that is newer than what you are trying to use it on. More expensive ones are updateable via usb connection.

What does it mean when a channel is "locked out"?

That is a setting that is used for channels that are constantly broadcasting but you don't want to scan them because they will stop the scanner. An example is the noaa weather channel. You may want to have it on the scanner as a channel but you don't want to scan it because the scanner will stop on it all the time.

I need to know how to access menu or run channel scan on rca dta 800b1l converter box without the remote

There is not a way, unless you get a universal remote, scan for the code to control the box, and then get into the menu.

I have a digital reciever and i dont know how to make it work . it wants me to do a channel scan

you need to do the channel scan so that it will know what channels you can receive in your area and what ones are static or blank. from there you can then eliminate the channels that you may not want to receive.

Have an rca digital converter box model dta800b1 and a phillips universal remote can i program it so my box get the channels

Find the user guide for your universal remote and use the RCA cable tv/satellite codes, and one should work for your RCA DTA800B1 converter box. My Sharp Aquos remote liked the RCA satellite code.

Programming RCA converter box remote control with Phil/Mag TV---

Good day,
You should have the instruction guide. If not look below. It's there but look closely for the guide itself and how to increase it's size to readable.

Check on the back of the TV to see if there is a 3 and 4 setting, If so, set to 3.
With nothing connected to the tv, and using the tv's remote, scan for channels. It should come up with only channel 3.
Then using the remote with advanced options, set the the input to either antenna or auto.

Connect the antenna cable to input on the converter box. Using the supplied cable connect the output from the converter box to
the TV. Turn the TV on first, followed by the converter box.
Then follow the instructions.

Not really easy so you'll have to fight your way thru it.
Finding the right setting for the antenna will probably take the most time, requiring a station scan after each adjustment.

UNABLE TO STOP SCAN FROM PC

Try reinstalling scanning software. If one of the DLL files are corrupted, this can happen. Also run Scandisk of your hard drive.
