Was the counters cleared first? for the drum and developer, has to be done because the machine uses the counters to tell the copier what voltages to apply to certain assemblies. If not done causes codes and image problems. That is also how the copier has a new drum and developer, after the drum and developer where replaced was Toner Density procedure run. And no prints copies or faxes where received after the developer was replaced and running the Toner Density procedure, and any did get ne developer and start again. Must disconnect network cable and fax cable before changing developer also.

Replace the developer and drum/cleaning blade. Also reset the counters after replacing parts then run F8. resetting the counter with out replacing the above items cause image problems. The copier uses the counters to determine voltages on the drum you tell the copier drum is new and it is still old will cause problems.

My xerox workcentre 7328 has just flagged for replacement of the toner drums. Can I still print until they arrive?

By default, after the drum counter has lapsed you still have several thousand copies left before it will actually cease copies. There is no risk or danger to your equipment by continuing to run jobs, it's just a service message alerting to replace the drum soon.

How can I replace the Canon IR3100CN Drum unit.

Hi, yes it is drum RELATED error, but before changeing the drum, clean the drum sensor. When you remove drum unit, inside of copier in drum unit place, from left side, uperr in the middle you have small sensor - Clean it!

Then try again.

If not tell me the exact error code eg. E 020 - 01A2 or?

It may be problem also in developing units.

It says I need to replace my drum soon, is that right?

Hello Dothanson,

Your machine will tell you that the drum needs to be replaced after a certain number of pages printer (roughly 12000)
This is the expected yeild of the drum.

However this does not mean you have to change your drum right now.
The drum does not have a measure volume like the toner cartridge.

This means the machine can only estimate when the drum is finished.

If you are not experiencing print quality problems, you do not need to replace the drum.

Grinding grumbling sound upon start up , continuing at a quieter sound during the cycle, loud and grumbly during shut down

f you get a very loud noise coming from the machine, and this noiseislouder when it spins faster, then it is often because of a problemwith the drum bearing.

The drum bearing is bad, probably drum bearing spider had broken.

On a front load the drum bearing is located at the back of the drum.

To replace the part you take apart machine, undo the belt and depending on the model you may need to remove more parts.

You can find parts and diagrams for most models here.
