Question about Canon MultiPASS MP730 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Waste ink near full Cannon Multipass MP730

" Waste ink near full" causes alarm light to blink and won't allow printing or copying .I went through steps of menu, copy,# and got to test mode but hitting the #3 did not bring up the Eeprom Clear. Then hitting the "0" did nothing. Also there is no "stop" button only an on/off.
Is there really a waste ink receptacle?

Waste ink near full

There is a collection area in the printer that when the print head are not in use they rest over. It usually has a sponge\foam material. It collects excess ink and keeps the print heads clean. Any way, waste ink near full means it needs to be changed.
