SOURCE: Our 42" Vizio will not display/play sounds when

Hello

One board takes in the HDMI as well as the other signals. Sometimes part of the board breaks and that is what sounds like has happend in your case. This is a fairly common problem and most people tend to just live with it. Others sell thier tv and a few find the number of thier board to see if one is available on ebay or shopjimmy. If you are comfortable with electronics the board is not hard to replace.

Im sorry your HDMI broke....

I hope this helps

Hi,
You need to select HDMI 2 in tv to get bluray playback picture and sound.
Select HDMI 2 source by either tv remote or buttons on tv itself then tv will show bluray picture.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

SOURCE: I have a new VIZIO 37 in LCD 1080p HDTV. I have a

Starting with the DVD player. The yellow video cable comes from the video out of your DVD player and is installed where it says DVD IN right in the center bottom row of yellow holes. The red and white audio cables go from your audio out of your DVD player to the receiver to the left of all of that where it says DVD on the bottom row with the white cable being placed on top and the red under it. If you are using green blue and red cables for video though they will go where it says DVD IN 2 in that middle row straight across from the component out of your DVD player. However with the DVD player being older you might have to connect it directly to the televison for video and then to this receiver for audio.

Since you didn't say you got nothing from the cable box it should remain the way it is for video. However the recommended place to install for video would be hdmi in on the left hand side or where it says component BD IN 1 or DVD IN 2. Then for audio you would have to make sure all of the audio outputs on the cable box are outputting at the same time. Someone from the cable company should be able to tell you that. If they aren't there is a setting in the cable box menu where you can choose the audio ouput. It should be set to hdmi. You can also opt to connect a fiber optic cable to where it says Optical Digital IN DVR/VCR on the back of the receiver. If you're using the analog cables for this too you would place them from the out of the cable box to the DVR/VCR or TV/SAT in on this receiver.

The speaker wire can only go in either where it says surround or center. If they aren't working the it could be an incompatibility issue unfortunately.

Make sure the fm antenna is connected to your receiver and see if you're getting fm stations first.

The function button on your remote switches inputs on your receiver to go between all of your devices.

I have a 60 inch Panasonic viera, and a rca Blu Ray surround sound. I can't get it to work, and when I put the DVD on it does but no picture

Connect the Blu ray player to your TV from the HDMI port on the player to one of the available HDMI ports on the TV using the HDMI cable that came with the player. If you do not have an HDMI cable you can buy one from Walmart, BestBuy, RadioShack, etc.

I get picture but no sound on my samsung blu ray

  1. Are you connecting through HDMI?
  2. Do you have another source to test the HDMI cable to make sure it is not faulty?
  3. Do you have a second HDMI Cable you could test and connect with?
  4. Does your TV have another HDMI Connection you can use to connect with instead?

Essentially we are looking to determine whether or not it is the TV's HDMI connector, the Blu-Ray's, or just the HDMI cable in general.

No,a HDMI cable alone will do the job.Just plug the HDMI cable one side connected to the HDMI port hub belong to the tv HDMI hub,the other side of the HDMI cable connected to the HDMI port hub belong to the Blu ray dvd player HDMI port hub. That should play ur Blu ray dvd player.U still have questions, read ur owner manual.

Yes, you can connect the HDMI Cable from the Blu-ray Player to the TV directly and then, connect the Digital Optical cable from the Blu-ray Player to the Receiver.

Blu ray connect to my sc-pt660

as far as hooking up your blu ray player to the sc-pt660, the only real way to utilize the surround sound (with true surround sound) is through the optical audio out. You need to connect your blu ray player through hdmi to your tv and then connect your blu ray player to your surround sound using the optical audio out/in. I, personally have the sc-pt660 hooked up through component cables so I don't waste an HDMI input on my TV. Except for cd's, there is no reason for you to use the actual dvd player part of the surround sound considering you have a blu ray player. In conclusion, hooking your blu ray player and the sc-pt660 up to get better video simply isnt possible (your blu ray player alone gives the best possible resolution, 1080p). As far as audio goes, run an optical audio cable from your blu ray player to your sc-pt660 to get true surround sound.

42LG50 TV - Intermittant sound problems with blu-ray HDMI input

You say this doesn't happen on regular cable or when playing a regular DVD. Hmm. Is this Blu-Ray player connected by simplink? HDMI is a bi-directional format cable, so  there are cases in setups where your tv can send commands to your blu-ray player and vice versa. It could be a problem with your blu-ray player that it is sending for some odd reason a mute command to your tv. Or is processing a command that your TV interprets to be a mute command when playing blu-rays. Because if it was the TV itself chances are you'd see this when watching a normal DVD or on cable as well. Since you say you're not, it leads me to believe the issue lies with the blu-ray player itself.

How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI

The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.

Connect and Enjoy
