Getting my bmw f 650 sg ready for the road after winter, charged the battery and installed it but when I turn the ignition on I get a sickly buzzing sound, but the motor will not turn over

probably your battery cant take a full charge or has a few cells not working hook up another car so you can use jumper leads to start your car ( I am sure someone you know has them ?) that way you can get your car running etc but it is still possible that your battery can not take a full charge or is faulty under load , and should be easy to answer this question after you start it and give it a good run for a hour or two , and park it over night , if it makes the ticking sound ( this is a normal flat battery noise)when you try to start it the next day and it will not turn over the motor your battery is stuffed

What to do when motorcycle will not start tipped over tries to start but wont fire up

How old is the battery? You need to check if the alternator is putting out a charge, is the regulator working. A dead cell in the battery will often show a full charge state if you try to charge it. When you try to start the bike the battery is required to give a high charge to the starter. The buzzing you hear is probably the starter solenoid trying to work. I would suggest fit a new battery and if the bike starts OK check out the charging system. 14.4 volts is the normal reading across the battery with the engine running at 5K.

check the solenoid if you been jumping it off you could have burned it out and possibly the starter replace the solenoid first thats the cheap route and if that dosnt fix it check the starter if its buzzing or clicking its gone bad feel if it get hot if it does thats the bad sign to look for, replace solenoid, then starter thats my advise need more info messege me back for more, thanks, jamie

your first point of call is the battery mate, when low on charge or duff all you get is a buzzing from the solenoid, how old is your battery ?they dont normally last more than 4 years giving good service.

Savage does not start, i replaced the battery and spark plugs but all i hear is buzzing from under the seat

Buzzing is normally a low voltage issue. It a relay that's not happy.
Re-check your battery condition, and make sure the cables are clean!
If your starter or starter solenoid is failing, this could happen also.

Have a hoverround mpv 4,do you charge with the controller on or off, when on i get a buzzing noise loud im thinking you charge when the controller is off need help thank you

Typically you will charge with the controller off, but it is not critical. The buzzing noise may be the fan on the charger, which is normal. Make sure the silver handle of the charger is fully inserted into the controller. If the light on the charger is on, you have kept the charger connected for 8-12 hours and still the batteries will not charge, there may be a problem with the batteries being bad and they need to be replaced.

Dead battery making a clicking sound

take the battery out of the veh and see if it will charge overnight on a charger, if not then the bat just ran its course I doubt it is 11 years old. Bats last anywhere from 3 to 5 years then they die if it does charge then your alternator needs to be replaced as it charges the battery when you drive, low voltage may cause the buzzing, tellin gyou there is a problem.
