New 66 bobbin will not fit 500A machine

I believe that all Class 66 bobbins are the same, and your machine takes that bobbin. Check where you purchased the bobbin; you can also purchase Class 66 bobbins on eBay.

I have a singer machine but cannot use plastic bobbins. They do not stay in the case. I tries aluminum ones & they seem to work.

If they work for you, go for it! The types used in most--if not all--Singer sewing machines are Class A and Class 66. Both are available in either plastic or metal. Class A has holes all the way around, and class 66 only has two holes. You can purchase them on eBay (my favorite) or Amazon.

I have a singer machine 1408/1409 but cannot use the plastin bobbins. I only have two of the aluminum bobbins that seem to work but I need more.

There actually are not that many types of bobbins and just judging from the looks of your machine, my guess is a Class 66, but it may also be a Class 15. I checked your user's manual, and it doesn't say, but Class 66 only has two holes and Class 15 has holes going all the way around, and what is pictured in all of the drawings only has two holes. The user's manual REALLY should have given you that info, but it doesn't that I can see.

I have a model 5062 and need more bobbins.

The Class 66 bobbin is the correct bobbin. The Singer part number, 172336, is specific to the 10 pack of their bobbins. This site, , gives more details on the sewing machines that use the bobbin.

I hope this helps.

What size # bobbin do I need for Singer 328K Style-O-Matic?

The Singer 328 is a class 66 machine it sounds to me like you had a bobbin that was billed as a 66 but was something else. Or you had it in upside down.

I bought a Singer 328K at a second hand shop. I cleaned and oiled it but the motor just hums and runs very slowly. I think the belt may need tightened or replaced. Is it possible to do it myself and...

The Singer 328K "style-o-matic" is a Class 66 sewing machine with a solid handwheel. Like the 328, and most style 66 machines, this one takes Singer Motor Belt # 193077. Any singer vendor should be able to help you and as of this writing (2010) the part runs around $10. In case you have a parts machine around or find vendors less knowledgeable here are some other machines using the same belt: Pfaff 330 Series Singer 127 Singer 128 Singer 15-88 Singer 15-90 Singer 15-91 Singer 185 Singer 185K3 Singer 206 Singer 206K Singer 223 Singer 27 Vibrating Shuttle Singer 306K Singer 306W Singer 319K Singer 327K Singer 327K Singer 328K Style-O-Matic (YOURS) Singer 329K Singer 66 Singer 66-1 Singer 66-14 Singer 66-16 Singer 66-18 Singer 66-24 Singer 66-4 Singer 66-6 Singer 66-8 Singer 99 Class Singer 99-13 Singer 99-31 Singer 99K
Hope this helps!
