The screen stays black. Yes, I have batteries, I do get instructions and images for video or camera, but I can no longer get a visual of anything the camera is aiming at. It's like there is a lens cap on...

Look at the front at the lens. Turn the camera to picture mode. Point the camera at a light above you. Take a few pictures and watch the lens.
You should be able to tell if is functioning correctly or if its broken. It sounds like it has been dropped.

Calapsed picture frame

Hi there,

This can only be a bad soldered on the video module, its better to check for any bad soldered and for any fault on the resistor on the video output module.

Hope this initial info / idea helps.

Please Accept my solution if I solved the issue.

micro

Its usually in the settings; just remove it from "automatic flash" to "no- Flash" its sometimes symboled like a lightning arrown downwards. Look around it will be in your settings.

Sound, but no picture. Standby light blinking 5 times

A few weeks ago my set started flashing to a black screen. Now a couple of weeks later, i have no picture, but the set turns on and i have sound. The standby light is flashing. I purchased the set in 2000 so it is seven years old. This is the first problem. Could it be all three of the bulbs? Could it be all three of the bulbs? no as you say that sound is ok that means your power supply &high voltage section is ok. please check chroma ic luminance section or system control section stand by ckt ihanks

Please, Help me fix my TV

It sound like you have abad picture tube. Iknow this is not the answer that you want to hear. Sony's have video blanking circuit built into the video processor(in the jungle IC) when the emission of all three gun fall out of an acceptaable range. the screen blinks and when you turn the screen control on the IHVT all you see is re-trace. Some times there is a current limiting resistor in series with on lead of the heater on the crt board. By changing this resistor from 2.2 ohm to >.1 ohm @1/2 watt you can sometimes increse the filament voltage to the point that the blanking stops. This is only a temporary cure not a fix. The picture tube is probably bad. Scrivitron
