Question about Magellan Smart GPS
Was working fine then one day just wouldn't turn on. Tried running it on a different power cord, nothing. Unit is about six months old. Has done a few strange things in six months, but nothing I haven't been able to figure out until now.

i have a 800 also but it does not freeze because i make sure it is up to date on all firmware and software,if i was you chk out for updates on the magellan website after you register your unit then if ther is, which i know do the update and you will have no problems after that.let me know how it goes.

BertM, I had the same problem and also do not use it frequently enough. The unit finally gave way about 7-8 months. I am hoping that Magellan will honor their warranty and find it's bad battery. I am awaiting an RMA. Visit following site for help:

I managed to solder my connector back in place. The ground trace broke away from the board so I had to install a jumper to ground. I put RTV on the connector to secure it after the repair.
Worked great for a few weeks until it was dropped again and lost power, something else has a broken connection.
