SOURCE: Can the LG BD370 be made region free?

Good news! It can be made to be region free. However it's not as simple as entering a code on the remote. You'll need to update the firmware on the player's chip. Read this forum to see how to do it. It's not hard but will take a little time to do,

Testimonial: "Burned the CD per the instructions in the June 5, 2009 post using Nero 9 and away we go, region free out of the gate."

SOURCE: Chronicles of Narnia. Lion, witch, wardrobe blu-ray won't play

Updated firmware last night (for the Bd370) and the main movie disc for Chronicles of Narnia: Lion, witch, wardrobe worked (after previously stalling). However, the bonus disc still doesn't work when I play it (just a blank screen). I traded the Blue-ray DVD from where I bought it for another one, and it made no difference. However, both Narnia discs played okay in the store on a Sharp blue-ray DVD/Tv combo.

SOURCE: No sound through home theatre with blu ray connected

Make sure that your receiver says optical 1 or 2 on the front display.

SOURCE: i tried to load the film 2012 on my LG BD370 BLU

First you need to update firmware to v3.886.01 THEN update to LG_BD_370M_UPG_LG_V7163 which can be found on the LG drivers section http://www.lg.com/uk/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=BD370&initialTab=documents

SOURCE: my LG BD370 for reading

Hello
You just check your remote commander for infrared out. You can ckeck it easly, if you have a cellphone with camera option. Place the remote commanders' front towards the lens of the cellphone camera, at about a feet away or so, after the cellphone has been set to camera mode, press each button on your remote, and if there is any infrared signals comes from it, you will get an image of it oh the screen of the phone. If it has the infrared signals, and still your player didn't accept, the players' infrared sensor may be damaged, and needs replacement.

Saw 3d only plays in 2d ,is the lg bd370 capable of suporting 3d?

Simple answer: no. It uses HDMI 1.3 which has insufficient bandwidth for 3D.

There's no firmware upgrade to HDMI 1.4 which would enable 3D either, so your only fix is to upgrade the player or to contact LG Customer Support in your country to ask whether they are planning to release a firmware upgrade. Given that your machine is an older, basic, and obsolete model it's unlikely to have the required hardware to cope with 3D though.

I hope that you've found my answer to be of use, if so then please take a moment to rate my reply.

I have an LG BD370 and it won't play 3 of my dvds, the dvds are fine because I can play them on my other player. Any advice please?

Sounds like your Blu Ray is region coded. You will need to region-free the player so it will play them all. Normally happens with PALS formatting. You need to update the firmware on the device via using an internet connection. Sounds like it's out of date.

Also you may wish to follow the following site post. Excellent tricks to make this device region free.

Hope that works for you.

Hi there

If you download the updates onto a CD-r and insert it into your player it should automatically update itself but if it doesnt then you should try downloading the updates on a DVD-R disk

This should work

How do i make this player region free?

You can make the LG BD370 player region free (e.g. region 0) by flashing a new 'custom' firmware: this will of course negate any warranty! This is for educational purposes only and the following forum talks about how to go about it and I therefore take no responsibality if you do decide to pursue the mods!!!

Some new blu-ray movies require the latest firmware version on the player, here is the site where shows how to upgrade the player. There is a read file that shows you how to upgrade and which version you should be using. Best of luck.
