SOURCE: freezer is icing up and

Hi miss_i2000

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber

Your question is: freezer is icing up and fridge temperature has risen to 10 from 5. Also alot of condensation in the fridge and the fan doesnt seem to be working in fridge. Correct temperature on freezer -18 but ice. new frost free fridge freezer bought 1.5 weeks ago

This is no problem for you. You are under warranty and as long as you have not tryed to repair it yourself you are completely covered. Look for the manufacturer's warranty phone number on the paper work that came with it or call the sales man, he will be happy to track that down for you because he wants repeat business.
If you bought it used the only answer is to return it. You could get a local pro to repair it at yuor own expense but I wouldn't recomend that for a frige only 1.5 weeks old!

You require NTC for fridge evaporator. Part no.7323301. It is the one screwed to the back wall of the fridge with a green band on it.Behind the cover at the rear of the light.

SOURCE: The Miele Fridge Freezer KFN8462S

Hi.

F2 indicates that there is a defrost problem. For this reason, if you turn off and defrost the fridge manually, the unit will work for a while after doing defrost.

You said that you replaced temperature sensor. What is called temperature sensor is different from the defrost thermostat, which is one of the parts involved in the fault.

If there is no defrost cycle, or if defrost is insufficient, problem is usually the defrost thermostat. The thermostat is located behind the freezer section rear wall, where the evaporator resides. To access it you need to remove frozen food and undo screws holding the back panel. The thermostat is a metal cylinder shaped object connected to two wires and clipped to the evaporator. The thermostat can be tested using a multimeter set on impedance. If reading impedance at room temp. on the thermostat contacts is infinity (circuit open),then the thermostat must be replaced. In the same way is tested the defrost heater. Check also that evaporator fan is starting.

If parts in the evaporator section are working, then the problem can be the defrost timer, which starts the defrost once every 8 hours.

Here how thermostat looks like. In same page read also the repair instructions from other users.

Regards.

Ginko.

Why does miele fridge light keepsflashing

temperature displays flash under the following conditions:

  • - wheneveradifferenttemperatureis being set,
  • - wheneverthetemperatureinthe appliance has risen by several degrees, indicating that the appliance is warming up too much. This short-term loss of cooling is no cause for concern in the following cases:
  • - whenthedoorhasbeenleftopenfor a while, for example to take out or put in a large amount of food,
  • - whenfreshfoodisbeingfrozen.

Meile fridge freezer ice on floor of fridge

This fix procedure is simple and should not daunt anyone. First switch off the unit - best by removing any electrical connection, plug, socket, etc. At the rear of some (?) Miele fridge freezer units inside the compartment, is a large plastic panel. Remove this by first removing the food trays and then, use the screws in place on this panel. You wioll probably have to manoevre out the small cabled temperature "sender" control unit. Also see the drain hole at the bottom of the unit's back wall. Above this is a heat exchanger (like a car radiator). You need to pour hot water into the heat exchanger body at the top so the probable ice build-up is melted. This can take several jugs full of hot water and the drained water needs to be recovered at the bottom and lost elsewhere. I think I used a combination of old towels and drain cooking tray. If you don't do this, you will simply have a big water mess. When you feel the water flows easily the ice has probably been melted. The hot water shouldn't damage the heat exchanger at all. Dry all the components you can see around the heat exchanger. Then turn your attention to the drain hole. This discharges through a small plastic outlet into a water overflow tray and this is likely to be blocked with either more ice, or dirt. Poke a plastic rod or wooden stick down this hole and wiggle it about. You are trying to ensure that the drain hole is free to drain any auto-defrost water away by itself. When all is clear and dry, replace the large plastic panel, switch on the unit and hopefully see that the fredige freezer comes back down to the right temperature. You may need to refer to your User Manual to see how the temperature and settings all work. Good luck.

This looks like there is a problem with thermstat in the fridge. We had a fridge that would not cool and we found it to be the thermastat problem. You have to replace the thermstat on the fridge. Not 100% sure but a high possibility.

Ffa70 hotpoint fridge freezer

Adjust the temperature control for the freezer to a normal setting. Fast freeze is only for when new products are put in that need to be frozen. This locks the system into a continuous run mode and could be responsible for the freezing condition in the refrigerator section. Check the temperatures with a thermometer as the sensor for the freezer temperature could be bad causing the light to come on.

ice blocks water drainage hole Our Miele fridge-freezer (actually model no. KF7542SN or KF76422SN) has a no-frost refrigerator as top section. This seems to work as follows: the cooling part of the cycle is followed by a short defrosting period when the ice crystals on the back of the fridge melt and the water runs down to a horizontal collecting "ledge" 2/3 of the way down the back wall. from there it is channelled through a small hole in the back of the fridge to the outside where (presumably) it evaporates. The problem is that the hole easily becomes blocked, initially only partially but enough that all the water can't run away before the next cooling cycle starts. It then freezes, further blocking the hole and impeding outflow at the next defrosting cycle. Pretty soon there is a solid block of ice constantly filling the freezing ledge and then the water runs down into the rest of the fridge and accumulates in the veg trays etc. We have several times removed the block of ice (melting with a hairdryer) and cleaned the hole as much as can be done from inside the fridge. Initially this cured the problem for several months, especially after we raised the thermostat on the fridge to 6 degrees. More recently however, the hole seems to freeze up again after a day or two each time we clean it. Perhaps there is dirt on the back edges of the hole which we are unable to remove from inside the fridge (I'm reasonably sure that the hole is not easily accessible from the rear of the fridge either, although we haven't tried). The Miele manual only states that the hole should be kept clean, but this is pretty clearly a design flaw which must affect all of these fridges. Perhaps they've cured it in more recent models. They have a £99 call-out fee to examine the fridge without any guarantee they will fix the problem first time or at all. I'd be very grateful for any advice!!!
