Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Hi I have 2 RCF8003-AS POWERED SUBS,the other night I experienced a problem with one of the subs status light coming on and momenterely turning off the signal to that side, normally this is meant to come on I think only when the box gets hot, but this is not the case, both sides of the system are being fed the same mono mix but it is only happening on one side, the limiter light blinks normally but never turns red or anything out of the ordinary, can a too high input level cause this to happen, as its never happened in the past

Hello, Jesse. I doubt I can help, but there is at least one SIMPLE thing you can try - with maybe a 10% chance it wil return your unit to normal: Unplug the unit for 30 seconds, then plug it back in to a DIFFERENT outlet. Oh, yes - there are NO fuses or other "reset" devices. I'm sorry I couldn't offer you more help.

I think the electronics have a 3 years warranty and the drivers have a five years warranty for this product, maybe you can have it replaced. Maybe the auto on/off signal detector is the culprit.

It sounds like your subwoofer acts as a receiver in its own right. Many low-budget home theater systems act this way, and it may in fact have a Dolby Pro Logic II encoder in it. Your best bet is to hook up either the speakers it came with, or purchase speakers from your local audio visual store. Check its power rating per speaker (in watts) in your manual, and purchase speakers that are rated for it.
The "red and white" input you mention are RCA connectors, and should allow you to connect a source to your system. If you have any more specific questions, please post them here.

I had an older model (1500) and I think I read in the manual that it will shutdown @ 3000 hrs. You have to replace the lamp itself, not just the bulb. The average price (depending on where you shop) is around $200 dollars or more for a replacement lamp.
I hope this helps. Please let me know!

SOURCE: subwoofer goes to sleep
The receiver automatic speaker set-up set the sub volume at -12 and since it was not getting any signals from the receiver it was doing what it is supposed to be doing (going to the standby mode). This was troubleshooted by Onkyo tech support on a Sunday. All the best about Onkyo customer support.
