How do a get my tool to level it self? I have not used this tool in about 5 years it is like new. It has been sitting in my garage and I went to use it to set some plum and level lines and it will not

Bill the level is a pendulum type of device, therefore it is self leveling as long as it is within about 5 degrees of level. The pendulum has a lock for when it is not in use, make sure that you unlock this so the the unit can self level. It also has a flashing out-of-level indicator to warn you if you have not set the unit up within the 5 degrees of actual/real level. Paul.

Cannot read disc

Xbox 360 or PS 3? Dirty laser lens on both, the 360 loses it's laser strength and may need to be recalibrated.

We have a bunch of PLS180 units that are out of calibration. Is there any way to adjust these back to level. I have some concerns about opening up the unit after seeing the warning about laser radiation...

The manual describes the procedure for checking level and plumb for the PLS180 but if you have determined that your units are out of calibration you are right to be concerned about opening the unit yourself. Please contact PLS at 1-800-601-4500 to find an authorized service center for your lasers.
If you cannot locate your manuals to check level and/or plumb I an attaching a link to the PLS180 manual as the methods for confirming level and plumb are quite detailed and should be followed exactly as described.

Will not read the discs

Open the wii and clean laser With Swab and alcohol. Push the laser reader the the other end ( away from spindle motor). This will recalibrate and clean. Special screwdriver is needed to open. Triwing screwdriver can be purchased on ebay. If that dont work replace laser and tray. Good Luck.

What is the error code 80010514

If you enter the code into error code tool on PS3 site it says " issue reading discs". I would suggest clean and recalibrate laser. If that dont work order new laser and tray. They can be found on ebay for about $75 US.

HALF PRINTING(HALF DARK AND THE rest no printing)

Check with the cartridges. If you are using recycled cartridges it has these kind of problems. Try aligning your printer from the software. If you have new cartridges than also you can try aligning and in troubleshoot option it could be 'recalibrating/recalibration' use this option. And the best would be use software assistance and try to uninstall and reinstall the printer.

Scanner isn't scanning all the time

It doesn't sound like a power issue. Most likely it either needs cleaned, or it needs the laser recalibrated or replaced. Try cleaning the glass for starters, and then hold the scanner about two inches from a white piece of paper. You should get a solid, bright red line. If the line is distorted you need to recalibrate the laser. If it's dim, the laser unit is going out. The laser can be replaced, but I don't know if it's one of those things where the part plus labor costs more than replacing the scanner.
