Hi,

By default the keyboard should be on.
Go to control panel---> go to keyboard (if you have windows 7 you can type keyboard).
then go to hardware tab. It should list your laptop keyboard. Below figure shows mine. how do i enable my laptop keyboard on an aspire e5 - 42a76aa0-deeb-44fa-bcc0-7ed13b683c62.jpg

If there is nothing there then your keyboard is not physically connected to the laptop.

Remove the screws behind and check whether the bus wire from the keyboard to the motherboard is connected.
(for more go to below tutorial )

Well now you should be good to go. Restart the machine.

Hope this tip was helpful. If it was please leave a feedback thanks.

Do a system restore before this happened might work, hook external keyboard to the laptop if no change, if external works, there is a problem with the laptop keyboard or bad device driver.

Keyboard only types numbers

You may have enabled the NumLk (number lock) which changes the right hand keyboard to a number keypad.
The NumLk LED will light up when this is enabled. To switch off the NumLk press the NumLk/ScrLk key near the F11 And F12 function key.

My touchpad has stoped working on my Acer Aspire 5732 Z

Hello,

Sometimes it differs but you can try pressing FN and F7 together on your keyboard to see if that will enable the touchpad again.FN should be next to your left-ctrl on your laptop keyboard.

On other Acers, there's either a seperate button to enable the touchpad or a different Function key. See on your keyboard the function keys and choose the one that looks like a tochpad, with a pointing hand. Sometimes the icon on the key just looks like a mini-touch-pad.
