Why would a frigidaire flse60rgs1 combo dryer runs but not heat and washer not start?

I have a frigidaire flse60rgs1 washer/dryer combo unit and the dryer runs but will not heat, & the weird part is the washer does not work at all - except when the dryer is running and you start the washer it will fill with water - but do nothing else. This is an electric unit and this happened suddenly.

My Frigidaire FLSE60RGS1 washer/dryer combo. the washer does not agitated it spins but doesn't do the washing movement stuff

Hi friend, I appreciate your post!

Based off the information you have provided regarding your Frigidaire laundry center it sounds like a possible problem within your control panel or agitator. Since it could be any one of these underlying issues I would recommend having a professional come out to your home to properly diagnose your washer. If you do not have a professional connection you can visit the manufacturer website to find a service provider in your area. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

Grease leaking out from under adgitator

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. After looking at your model number the only source for the grease that your noticing has to be coming from the upper transmission seal. Unfortunately the seal is not listed as a single item for purchase. The only listing is for the entire transmission assembly. Item 3 this link:
. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Frigidaire-Parts/Washer-dryer-combo-Parts/Model-FLSE60RGS1/1428/0152000/P0307249/00006?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

The transmission part number is: 131878411 that is now superceded by PN 134736400

We used several screws in the seal and then wrap the screws with 0.020 lock wire to pull them out.

What really stinks is... this transmission seal can be replaced and can be bought at an automotive parts supply IF you have the sample in hand. The other problem anyone would have in replacing the seal is that you have to make a new gasket for the tranmission and discard / replace the gear oil in the tranmission once you open it. It is not a repair for the novice mechanic.

The agitator can be removed by taking off items 54 - 57 this link:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Frigidaire-Parts/Washer-dryer-combo-Parts/Model-FLSE60RGS1/1428/0152000/P0307249/00005?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

Here is a pdf file with all part numbers on pages 4 - 7 for this repait EXCEPT the upper transmission seal.
ftp://ftp.electrolux-na.com/prodinfo_pdf/webster/95375481.pdf
( I know that this manual is not 100 % exactly like your unit but the parts are 100% the same. )

Any other parts can be found on line here:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Frigidaire-Parts/Washer-dryer-combo-Parts/Model-FLSE60RGS1/1428/0152000

We replace our own UPPER grease seals vs the whole transmission assembly. It is always a very time consuming / labor intensive repair.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Frigidaire Laundry center blows circuit when w/d run at same time

Okay, here's the best I can do from this distance.

The combo unit is on a 30-amp, 220-volt circuit. One cord supplies both washer and dryer.

The breaker does not trip until the washer motor starts running simultaneous with the dryer drying.

My guess is that (if the combo unit is connected correclty to the one supply cord) the dryer motor runs off the 110 volt supplied by the red/white wires & the washer motor runs off the other 110 volt leg, black/white (could be vice-versa, but that's irrelevant).

The dryer heating element runs off the 220 volt supplied by the red/black wires.

There are two most likely causes (but not the only possibilities):

- The breaker is bad -- could just be oxidation on the breaker contacts in the bteaker box -- I havae seen this conditon -- small amounts of oxidation can cause the breaker to overheat and trip -- of course, the more current the load draws the hotter the breaker gets.

- One of the motors (washer or dryer) is beginnig to fail (windings beginning to short) and drawing more than rated current which is overloading the breaker.

Checking thes two theories requires some not-so-standard equipment, and some more-than-handyman expertise. And if neither of these theories pans out, the troubleshooting gets more complicated.

So, to address your original question, "Can I fix it myself, or should I hire someone?, I would say you should hire someone. This wirite-up may give them a head start.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Charlie

P.S.
A third possibility (only possible if this tripping condition ahs existed from the beginnig of the w/d installation) is that the power cord is connected to the unit such that both motors are powered by the same 110 volt leg. Not being there to assess this, I can't say how likely this is, but it's a long shot for sure.

Frigidaire Washer/Dryer flse60rgs1 Starts filling but won't stop no matter what setting its put on it just fills the tub, and ultimately overflows

The problem is most likely the float switch or it could be a stuck fill valve. If it is the fill valve, it will stop filling if you unplug the machine.

You can find the parts and diagrams at partselect.com

If you need more help, post a comment.

Thanks,

Frigidaire electric washer dryer combo

i am asuming that when you say it works you mean it runs but not with heat? the thermo fuse is behind the back panel of the dryer the unit needs tobe pulled out to get to the back, you should see a bigger black thermostat next to a smaller thermo fuse, you can just jump the thermo fuse to see if that is your problem. it is not a fuse like you think of in your home.
