A lot of complaints were made about your model of air conditioner online. If it is not too late, return it back to the store where it was purchased.

Wiring my 85 mercedes sd turbo diesel factory wiring to a kenwood stereo and the radio reads protected. HELP PLEASE

Unhook all your connections to the head unit except for the red 12v b+, yellow which is 12v for memory, and black which is ground. What this does is check to see if it's something connected or if the unit itself has a problem internally.

check your wiring for dirty connections or broken wires, you may have wires that are rubbed through or connectors that are not making full contact. you will need an ohm meter and check wires for continuity. a wiring diagram will be needed.

Kenwood KW85 Air Conditioner

Start the unit and press the remote control at C if the display in the unit displays C, then turn off the unit using the remote control and plug out the ac supply. Plug the unit again and using the remote control turn on the unit. If the E4 still display there is something wrong with your air in sensor or the main board itself. Replacement of this parts needs a qualified technician.
