Unless you are really good and have the correct soldering gear, I\'d sudgest taking it to a repair centre. If you are going to have a go, you need a variable temp, needle point solder iron, a solder \'sucker\', a magnifying glass and a steady hand. The wires to each side are in s single unit. Here is a break down, from the centre, + then insulation, then the common which is rapped around that with another layer of insulation. Good luck!

Left Ear cup not working.

Either ship them back to manufacturer if still under waranty or you'll have to re-solder the wiring to that speaker if they have become disconnected or yanked accidentally of which the leftside is usually where the headphone cable first enters in the left side.

Severe squelch in left ear phone

The design of these headphones includes a microphone on the outside and on the inside of each earcup. The outside microphone detects outside noise. The inside microphone monitors what you are hearing and when it detects that the outside noise is present inside, the active noise-canceling circuits remove that noise. This happens fast enough that you perceive a significant reduction in the outside noise getting to your ears.

The airspace inside the earcup is a tuned chamber defined by the shape of the foam in the ear cushion. This is important because with the inside microphone in close proximity, but at a 90-degree angle to the speaker, the circuit must be designed to eliminate the normal feedback that occurs.

If the foam in the ear cushion has weakened/deteriorated to the point that it no longer has it's original shape, (in particular the lower half of the ear cushion), the size and shape of the air chamber inside of the earcup is directing more of the speaker sound toward the microphone than the design can compensate for causing audio feedback to occur. You are hearing that feedback.

On my QC-3 headphones, I can cause the feedback squeal in both earcups, with the left earcup being more sensitive to the shape change than the right.

It is probably time to replace the ear cushions. If so, they are available from Bose for $35/pair.

Left speaker only works when i push it to my ear??? please help!!!!

there is a way to fix the problem, buy some real headphones, if your price range is in the $300 range i would suggest the Fanny FW 3003 BLK, it has a dual layer 50mm driver with a built in amp with 4 way active noise cancelation for 20dB and bass boost up to 6dB.

Wireless headphone hook up

Hello depends on how you hook it up as thee are several ways.

many receivers will output sound through the headphone jacks even when the speakers are left on.(my receivers require that you manually turn speaker A off when using headphones)

it may be possible for you to connect the headphones to a tape output but this will require headphones that have a volume control on them or an external.volume control knob.. You may encounter a problem as I am not sure if a tape output will provide enough signal to drive a pair of headphones. this would not be a problem if you use a pair of WIRELESS headphones as they have their own power source onboard..

A set of wireless headphones could also easily be connected to the output on the back of the TV but assuming you have your receiver plugged in to the TV audio out you may need a couple of Y adapter cables.

Also if your receiver has a pair of PRE OUT jacks those would work to power a set of wireless headphones may also power a wired set but once again not sure on power as I have never needed to try it.

Hope that helps a bit

Bose Headphones only works on left side.

Have same problem. Play with the plug in the socket. I'll bet it you can occasionally get both working. Not a solution since it probably won't stay working. I have an old plug and it fails too. I'm afraid they did't make their plugs to the right tolerances. Used to work once. Annoying for this expensive a headphone.
