Question about Lexmark X1150 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Lexmark all-in-one has error message for cartridge stall.

I have reset it and looked inside front and bak, yet I see no obstructions. It's making a popping noise when I reset it. It printed a couple of pages but is doing the same thing again, cartridge stall, and the printing is automatically cancelled.

There maybe stuck little paper or something inside the device or maybe the cartidge is broken or the holder of the cartidge i think an expert should see it .. it must be seen and heared to solve it and try to clean it from inside

I found the following post on AsusForum.NET that solved the problem for me - hope it helps -

"As I had printing problems with my Lexmark X6170, which I bought at the time because it looked a good deal, I started to work on a solution.

I think this problem is also applicable for a number of other printers. The symptom is that the spooler in windows displays a progress for 99%. If you want to delete the job from the queue, you could end up restarting the print spooler.

The solution is rather simple (it took me a while to find out though).

If you go to the properties for your printer and click on the tab <advanced> and on the button <print processor>, just select the [winprint] processor instead of the manufacturer processor (in my case lexmark...). In the right pane select one of the [NT EMF...] processors and this should do the trick.
ALSO disable the bidirectional support on the <ports> tab...

As I thought the problem lies in the signal which has to be send back from the printer to the processor that the job has finished. As there is now way for the printer to send back the signal over the same printing port (RAW/9100), the spooler still thinks the job hasn't finished.
I searched the technet site and found some notes where a similar problem is described. In the case a problem like this occurs (apparently only with printers which use their own software and need bidirectional support...) they (the dark side) advises to use a Microsoft driver instead...

Hi !!

Try this ---

take out the ink cartridges from printer
Take a tissue paper and make it damp with water
Then CLean the bottom part of cartridge where you see some golden contacts , just wipe it off with damp tissue .

Check if there is any ink coming on the tissue or not .
If No ink coming out , may be u forgot to pull out the protective tape or there is no ink inside the cartridge

CLick on Start, printers and faxes, right click on your printer icon, click on properties.

There should be a tick box to allow you to reset the cartridges to new....

a 935 printhead error is a fatal error which means the scanner motor has failed to initialize. the term printhead is short for printhead scanner. this error can be caused by either the engine board or the scanner % wise 40%engine board 60% scanner ive done 120 repairs on lexmark laser for the last 7 years trust me one of these is the problem

I have this same problem and no solution! (I'm on a Lexmark 2400 and Windows XP.) The problem is how much ink it wastes on one alignment and NO BYPASS option - an ink cartridge is $25, we can't waste it on a USELESS test!!! They're trying to make money but let's not fall for it. We need a way to bypass the ****. Somebody heeelp.

Printhead stops and message claims there is an obstruction, but nothing there.

Make sure the ink cartridges are fully seated. Also, check for paper jams in the front (remove paper tray), and the back.

I have error 1200 on my lexmark x4270 fax machine after installing new black cartridge.

The 1200 error code indicates that the cartridge carrier has stalled. It could be due to the new black cartridge installed in the printer. Make sure you are using the correct version of black cartridge for your model and it's properly inserted in the cartridge carrier.
To remedy the problem, try to remove the black cartridge from the carrier > close the cover > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it > when the printer turns on, re-insert the new black cartridge > check for any errors. If problem continues, try to insert a different known working black cartridge to determine if the new one is faulty.

Printer cannot print test page. Cartiridges not sliing over to load position, "JE" flashing on printer

The "EJ" error code on the display screen indicates that the cartridge carrier has stalled. That explains why the cartridges are not moving to the center when you open the printer cover. Try to check in the cartridge area for a loose encoder strip (transparent strip). Make sure there are no foreign objects obstructing the cartridge carrier's path. If all is clear, close the printer cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, re-insert the cartridges. If error continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

The EJ error indicates that the cartridge carrier has stalled. Try to open the printer and remove the cartridges. Check the cartridge area and remove any obstructions in the carrier's path. Then close the cover - without the cartridges. Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on and looks for the cartridges, reinsert and make sure the cartridges are properly inserted and secured. Try to print again. If problem continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

Displays error 502

Error 502 means that the printer has stalled. Probably caused by the carrier getting stalled or a paper jam. Check of any paper jams or check inside the printer where the cartridges are. Make sure the cartridges are well-seated in the carrier. You can remove the cartridges and insert them back in. Check around the carrier for any foreign objects or any obstruction along its way.

Lexmark X4270 shows error message #1200 and to consult User Guide. We do not have one and do not know what error #1200 is.

Hardware Error: 1200

The All-In-One is stalled.
1. Press Power to turn off your all-in one.
2. Unplug your all-in-one fro the wall outlet.
3 Check for paper jams.
4 Plug in your all-in-one

Cartridge Error: 1200

The cartridge carrier is jammed.
1. Turn off your all-in-one
2. Unplug the all-in-one form the wall outlet.
3. Open the control panel.
4 Open the cartridge access door
5. Make sure the cartridges are snapped in place in the carrier.
6. Check for objects obstructing the carrier.
7. Plug in your all-on-one
8. Press power to turn your all-in-one back on.

That's all the information I could find.

Error 1200 what is this. I cannot locate my user's guide

Hello Sir, The error on this printer means that the AIO which is All-In-One is stalling or completely stalled. The repair procedure is given below. But you can reply me back clarifying that is it showing Cartridge error 1200 or Hardware error 1200. :--------- THE PROCEDURE:--------------------------
  • Turn the Printer completely off to turn off AIO.
  • Then check for any Paper inside.
  • After confirming that there is none then Un-plug the AIO from the Outlet located in the wall.
  • After 10 Min, replug and check function.
Also the problem can be on the Catridge ( Most Commonly ). In this case you need to check the Catridge socket for any obstruction and also check that the Cartridges are not stuck or misplaced.
Reply me for any further assistance on the Issue.

If the printer is only showing that error 1200 then take care of both the AIO and cartridges reset. Both have to be done.

  1. First count the number of times the light on the front of your printer flashes.
  2. Then refer to the table below for information about the error condition and recommended recovery procedures.

    Number of Flashes Error Condition Error Recovery 2 Carrier Stall:
    The movement of the print cartridge carrier has been obstructed. Remove any objects blocking the carrier path.
    4 Print Incomplete:
    The print cartridge carrier stopped in the middle of a print job due to obstruction. Remove any objects blocking the carrier path.
    12 Cartridge Short:
    The printer has detected a short circuit in a cartridge.
    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. Open the front cover.
    3. Turn the printer back on.
    4. Remove the color cartridge.
    5. Close the cover. If there are no flashing lights, the color cartridge is short-circuited.
    6. Remove the black cartridge and then reinsert the color cartridge.
    7. If there is no error indicated by flashing lights, the black cartridge is short-circuited.
    8. If you continue to receive an error indicated by flashing lights, both cartridges are short-circuited.

Printer carrier stall

I am getting a "Printer Carrier Stall" message and "Check printer for obstruction" message. what can I do to fix it?

Use the above link to trouble shoot the problem.

Error: "Carrier Stall" ID:470

To check the cartridge carrier:

1. Unplug the printer.
2. Move the cartridges to the left by hand and then take them out.
3. Try to print without the cartridges in the carrier. Do you still receive a Carrier Stall error message?
4. If not, put the cartridges back into the carrier and snap them in at the back. The message should no longer appear.

If the power light on the printer is not blinking, the error message may be caused by a communication error. Do the following:

1. Remove any other devices attached to the USB/LPT port.
2. Uninstall the Lexmark printer.
3. Connect the printer directly to the PC and ensure that power is being supplied to the printer.
4. Reinstall the printer.
