Question about Garmin eTrex GPS Receiver
I tried to do the factory reset, but it didn't do anything to the device. is there another method to reset besides the one listed on the garmin website? my etrex 20 is not displaying geocaches that i have downloaded to it. i have checked it on the software basecamp , which indicates that all the downloaded geocaches are there. i used basecamp to delete everything on the garmin and then tried to reload geocaches to it. the device only recognized 2 of the hundred or so that i loaded to it. i checked it again on basecamp after this second time, and basecamp shows that all the caches are on the device. any suggestions?
I am not too smart on the Garmin but I know they have a Tec. phone number that can help. Give it a try.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Search for them "by name" instead of "by nearest"
Only the nearest 50 caches show up and then only if they are within 50 miles.

The preloaded maps are VERY generic, mostly major highways. They are not useful for geocaching.
The good news is that you can download free topo maps created by a very generous Canadian soul, Dale Atkin. The maps are free but donations are accepted. He is also working on US topo maps. I've used Ibycus and Garmin topo maps and prefer the Ibycus version.

It's the problem with driver not synchronizing with the windows vista. Please try using windows 7.
There are versions like 32 bit and 64 bit.So it changes.Mostly vista is failure product since it does not support many drivers. If still you have problem.
Reset the unit if Garmin firmware is corrupted. In your manual it is given how to reset.check it out.
Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

When reinstalling the maps to the unit, use the program Map Install from garmin. If you did and still cant find your maps, call garmin back and have them remotely access your PC. They will be able to fix your issue.
Hope this helps!
