Why bother? A corded 12v will have barely adequate power for a number of jobs. If you're going to corded, then a 240v would be my preference, keeping the 8200 for jobs where the cord will be a nuisance.

You have no idea what's up , all computer controlled ! The cruise control switches are input's to the PCM - engine computer ! There is no pressure sensor near the master cylinder for the CC . The vehicle has ETC - electronic throttle control . Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop.

How to fix cruise control on a 2006 ford freestar, does not work at all, wont turn on


Note the diagram, at least check the fuse. Check trouble codes, related to cruise control. to check codes yourself, at least, you need an obd2 code reader that will read po codes as well as manufacturer specific codes. It is worth the investment, in my opinion. Make sure the brake lites work.

If automatic it's probably the blower motor control processor .
Blower Motor Control Processor The blower motor control processor is an interface between the HVAC control module and the blower motor. The blower motor speed control, Blower motor speed signal, battery positive voltage and ground circuits enable the control processor to operate. The HVAC control module sends the commanded blower motor speed to the control processor through a 0 to 12-volt linear ramped blower motor speed control circuit. As the blower motor speed control voltage increases, the blower motor speed increases. The control processor sends the actual blower speed to the control module through a 0 to 12-volt blower motor speed signal circuit. The processor supplies 12volts to the blower motor through the blower motor voltage supply circuit. The control processor uses the blower motor ground as a low side control to adjust the blower motor speed.

Where is the cruise control fuse located?


In the SJB - smart junction box , Under the dash ! There are three fuse's - F2.27 10amp - F2.32 10amp - F2.17 15amp . Is your air bag light lit ?

2007 Ford five hundred cruise control turns off when you hit a bump


First off the cruise control is computer controlled , need to check for diagnostic trouble code's . Your vehicle has electronic throttle control also . If your don't have a factory or professional grade scan tool your odds of being able to fix this yourself is close to zero ! You could find a wiring diagram an do some voltage drop testing ,mite find lose connection .
Speed Control
The speed control system consists of the following components:
  • Speed control switches
  • Speed control deactivator switch
  • Speed control indicator
  • Powertrain control module (PCM)
  • Electronically controlled throttle body
  • Clockspring
The speed control system is controlled by the PCM. The speed control system is designed to maintain a selected vehicle speed between 48 and 200 km/h (30 and 124 mph). The throttle position is completely controlled by the PCM through the electronically controlled throttle body. Speed control electronics are contained entirely within the PCM.
When the speed control system is active, the PCM corrects for deviations in the actual vehicle speed by proportionally moving the throttle plate. The PCM modulates the throttle to minimize error between actual vehicle speed and the desired speed.
The PCM strategy uses the throttle control for smooth accelerations.
The PCM sends a serial message over the controller area network (CAN) to the instrument cluster whenever the speed control telltale should be turned on or off.
In the event of an OFF command or a deactivation request from the deactivator switch, the speed control system carries out a hard deactivation and immediately returns the throttle to the idle position.
In the event of a CANCEL command input, the system deactivates and the throttle returns to the idle position at a smooth and controlled rate.
The speed control system provides self-diagnostics. The speed control system is disabled anytime an error is detected in the system. No cluster telltale or message center messages are displayed when faults occur. Fault codes are logged by the PCM.
An electronic throttle control (ETC) system fault also causes the speed control system to be disabled. In this case, an ETC system warning indicator or message center message is displayed.
Additionally, the following conditions cause the speed control system to deactivate:
  • Transmission gear selector is put into a position other than D or OD.
  • Parking brake is applied.
  • Speed control set speed is over-ridden with the accelerator pedal for a period longer than 5 minutes.
  • Vehicle speed loss from set speed of greater than 16 km/h (10 mph) occurs.
  • Vehicle speed falls below the minimum allowable limit of 48 km/h (30 mph).
  • Speed control switch is pressed or stuck longer than 2 minutes.

I would not consider a cordless Dremel to be heavy duty. I have a corded one and I ca do a lot more with it than I would try with cordless.

Cruise control stop working light dont show on dash can a fuse be out if so where is it located


There are three fuse's in the smart junction box , do you know where it is ? It's under the dash panel left side ! The fuse's are F2.27- 10amp , F2.32 - 10amp , F2.17 - 15 amp . They power the speed control servo ! Maybe the control switch's on the steering wheel don't work.

To increase a set speed, either press and hold for continuous acceleration, or momentarily tap the speed control switch SET/ACCEL for 1.6 km/h (1 mph) acceleration increments. To decrease a set speed, press and hold the speed control switch COAST until the target speed is reached, or momentarily tap the speed control switch COAST for 1.6 km/h (1 mph) deceleration increments. When the speed control system has been disabled by tapping the brake pedal, the speed control switch RESUME can be pressed and the vehicle will return to the original set speed if the vehicle is traveling over 48 km/h (30 mph) and the speed control switch OFF has not been pressed.
    NOTE: The deactivator switch is provided as an additional safety feature. Normally, when the brake pedal is pressed, an electrical signal from the brake lamp circuit to the speed control actuator will deactivate the system. Under increased brake pedal effort, the deactivator switch will open and remove power to the speed control actuator, releasing the throttle independently of the speed control actuator.
    NOTE: The clockspring provides the electrical interface between the steering column wiring and the speed control switches in the steering wheel.
    The inputs to the speed control actuator are:
    • Vehicle speed signal
    • Speed control switches
    • Brake pedal position (BPP) switch
    • Deactivator switch
    The outputs of the speed control actuator are:
    • Speed control indicator lamp
    • Speed control actuator cable controlling the throttle position
    • Inspection and Verification
      NOTE: If any concerns are noted with the speedometer, stoplamps, or horn, address those concerns by referring to the appropriate sections before continuing speed control diagnosis.
      1. Verify the customer concern by operating the speed control system.
      1. NOTE: Any aftermarket modifications, including but not limited to those listed below, may cause the speed control to not operate correctly:
        • Any wiring or lamp modifications affecting the brake lamp operation
        • LED brake lamps
        • Non-factory installed trailer wiring
        • Radios (speed sensitive, auto mute)
        • Remote starters and alarms
        • Lighting and electrical accessory modifications
        Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage:
        • Visually inspect the speed control actuator and accelerator controls.
        • Visually inspect the speed control cable without removing it and ensure smooth cable operation. Inspect the speed control cable connection to the throttle body.
        • Visually inspect the accelerator cable without removing it and ensure smooth cable operation. Inspect the accelerator cable connection to the throttle body. Also check for cable interference with the carpet, bulkhead grommet, insulation and instrument panel wiring.
