SOURCE: Problems with Bosch T101BR 4 Inch 10 Tooth Jig Saw Blades

Hi, The reason for a down cutting blade is to see your cut on the finished side of laminates ( which include veneers, plywoods, plastics, formica . When using an upcutting blade on laminates the smooth cut is on the bottom, which you can not see till you are done and turn the work over. Reversing the teeth allows that smooth cut to be on the top. This is usually done on smooth flat surfaces as you have found out and does not work with orbital or tight scrolls. As far as the pushing or pulling, smooth cuts in laminates require the saw doing the work at a speed that allows the teeth to cut and remove material with biting. So if you are biting, (This is a much slower process than pushing your jigsaw through regular wood) check that you are not pushing too hard and that your blade is still sharp. Good Luck to you, this should Fixya!

SOURCE: blade wont stay in Bosch 1882VS jig saw

From your description I cannot say for certain, but it sounds as though you are not locking the blade correctly, or the blade lock mechanism is broken. You can tell if the blade-lock is working by clicking it. It should make an audible "click" that you can feel. Also, you can pull on the blade ( with the saw UN-plugged of course!) and feel if it is properly seated. If you are operating the blade-lock according to the instructions and it still doesn't lock positively, see a service center before you use the tool again. A broken blade-lock could be dangerous.

SOURCE: change blade 1587 Bosch avs

are you using the "T" shank blades and also are you loosening the spindle enough to allow the blade to turn, sometimes you have to push up a little to turn it and also pull away from the roller guide. Let me know and also there is a TINY spring in the top of the spindle that has a nasty habit of breaking and winding around itself not allowing proper operation.

SOURCE: How do I change the blade on a Bosch pst 54E Jig

There's an exploded diagram of a similar model here. Don't let it confuse you though. I mention it, because it shows the clamp screw which hold the blade in place (35 on the diagram).

Unplug the saw before you change the blade.

In the handle directly over the blade there is a hole with a clamp screw at the bottom. Use a long thin blade screw driver to loosen the clamp screw.

Once the clamp screw is loosened, twist the blade about 90 deg and you should be able to pull it out (don't cut yourself, by accident)

Put the new blade in with the same orientation and twist so the blades are facing the front of the saw.

Tighten up the clamp screw and you're good to go.

Be careful not to tip your saw over while the screw is loose. If it falls out and you lose it they're a bit of a nuisance to come by.

The type in a Bosch Jig saw accepts T-shank style blades. There a variety of companies that reproduce the original. Some of the list in no order preference are: Black and Decker, Cobalt, Dewalt, Fat Max, Fe Stool, Irwin, & Stanley to name a few. The following link offers a search page with urls to reach the above mentioned. There is also pictorial graphics to support style with function. Take a look. Sabre saw- craftsman - 17256 - change blades

This saw uses a tool-free blade change. 1. Unplug the jigsaw 2. Place your finger on the lower edge of the see through blade guard, and pull it forward until it locks up in place 3. Lift the tool-free blade change holder (bright yellow piece above the blade), and insert the blade into the slot of the tool-free blade change holder. 4. Release the tool-free blade change holder to lock the blade in place. 5. Pull down on the blade to verify that the blade is securely locked in place. The teeth of the blade should be pointing forward and down. 5. Put the blade guard back down.
You can use with both 'T' & 'U' shanked blades.
Feel free to ask me any other questions about this saw.

Black and Decker JS305 blades come out. The only blades that will stay in this saw are the ones with a hold in the shank. I can not buy blades with a hold in the shank at Home Depot. Any advise.

I'm thinking the blades that go in Jig Saws are and have been standard since the late 80's. Once upon a time, blades were held on with a collar and a set screw while today they have a fat part that locks into the collet.

Can't find the proper blade at the Depot, my advice would be check with Black and Decker directly.

When I searched B&D, the first hits were Sears (Maybe at K-mart) and Lowes. Home Depot didn't come up at the top. You might find the blades you need at your local Ace or Sentry or Tru-Value or other brand hardware store. Be nice to support your local merchant, your neighbor.

Anyway, try here for your parts http://www.blackanddecker.com/ProductGuide/CategoryOverview.aspx?cPath=1496.2514.1020.147

I hope you find this information fruitful

I have a milwaukee jig saw, 6268-21 that I cannot load blades.

Yes the Milwaukee 6268-21 does require the use of certain jigsaw blades. You have to use T-shank type blades. You push the tension lever hold it while putting the blade in as far as it will go, then you release the tension lever slowly and it will engage the blade. You should then check by pulling on the blade to make sure it is seated properly and will not come out.

My husband has a BLACK & DECKER JS515 VARIABLE SPEED JIG SAW WITH QUICK CLAMP 3.5 AMP which i accidently broke the blade on...i cant figure out how to change the blade..any help would be greatly...

Here is a link to the instruction manual, and just under the place where it says Save These Instructions it tells you how to change the blade.
http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/documents/English/Instruction%20Manual/90520882,JS515.pdf
Fitting the saw blade (figure A)
- Hold the saw blade (9) as shown, with teeth facing forward.
- Push the lever (3) downwards.
- Insert the shank of the saw blade into the blade holder (10) as far as it will go.
- Release the lever.

There is a little lever where the base of the blade fits into the holder that you depress to release the blade...You can see a picture of it in the manual.

I hope this answers your question...if so, please take a aec to rate this post...thanks.
