Were you sitting down in seat at the time ? cus this model has a safety system that shuts engine off if mower is engauged and no rider is in seat , if so then you got a problem with your seat switch sometimes they get unplugged or pulled loose when fueling it up

Did you try to disengage the safety feature that should shut the tractor off when the blades are engaged and the tractor is placed in reverse? I believe that it is located under the shift leaver

A FEW THINGS TO LOOK AT ARE ,1THE PULLY SHIELDSMAKE SURE THEY AREN'T BENT TO CLOSE TO THE PULLEY'S.2 THE PULLEY BEARING'S MAY BE WORE OUT AND TO BREAK .3LOOK UNDER THE DECK TO MAKE SURE YOU DIDN'T GET SOMETHING TRAPED IN THE CUTTING DECK.HOPE THIS HELPED.

not possitive, but sounds like 1 of the bearings on the mower deck is starting to seaze up.I would start with that. Remove the deck and belts and check all the pullys and bearings for free movement.
