Because when turned it on the volume its really aloud.
If you do not have "+" and "-" buttons on the side of your tablet, you can change the volume via the screen.
The link below is for HP tablets, but can be used with any Android 4.1 tablet:
On the Home screen, touch the "All Apps" icon, and then touch the "Settings" icon. In the Device section, touch "Sound".
Touch "Volumes" to select custom volumes for media playback, notifications, and alarms.
Touch and drag the circle along the slider to adjust the volume for each type of sound. Dragging the slider left decreases the volume, and dragging the slider right increases the volume.
