Question about Televison & Video
Try a hard reset to this TV. To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 20 minutes or so. This must make it a hard reset. If it doesn't help you, its main system control memory IC is faulty, and should be replaced. Contact any service technician. This IC is not a hard to get one. But, replacement and re-configure is somewhat difficult to a normal user. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box.

SOURCE: How to disable parental lock
You can try these codes 2211 or 3308 if they do not work you will need to reset the unit. You will need to unplug it for 45 minutes that will reset the TV to factory settings. Then the pass codes I provided should work.

SOURCE: Black box appears in TV screen
The problem with the black box happened to me. I had pushed the subtitle button on my remote by mistake. Interestingly enough, as soon as I pushed the SUBTITLE key again, on the remote, the black boxes disappeared.
It also says CC which means closed captioned-- So the bottom on my remote is Subtitle, and then on the subtitle button is cc...
