Question about LG 42PC3D 42 in. Plasma Television
Every time i hit the power button th green light blinks 3 times and than shuts off
LG 42PC3D has the same panel and sustain boards, same core issues and same troubleshooting process as the one described above.
it is not the same TV, mind you, it is just close enough to be able to use the troubleshooting explained above.
Once you do here are some service options:
Note this does not include main board, for example, but what it covers is the most commonly failing boards in your TV.
Hope this helps!

For this model it is usually power supply(look for popped or bulged capacitors) or YSus board(look for shorted components}

SOURCE: TV will not turn on
Ok, you stated that you get a green for a second and then a couple of blinks and then, it turns off. This rules out the power board but, its main control partner is experiencing some trauma. Normally in the plasma TV set, the green is a go but, if the PCB(Power control board), doesn't agree, the the power board will shutdown the entire unit after giving a few blinks. Its very important to remember that, the power board and the power control board are two separate circuit boards. In your case, the PCB is down and it will need to be replaced.
Please rate and god bless.

SOURCE: stalling coming on
LG's are known for having bad capacitors in the power supply. These components will cause all kinds of problems like not turning on, no backlight or no video and are known to do this after the TV has been off for a few hours or days. You will need service on this TV.

Hi, sounds like a power supply problem, most likely needs capacitors replaced, costs about £5 to do it yourself, and a fortune in the repair shop, easy enough if your handy or know someone who is,its worth a try,it'll be going in the bin anyway, cam

SOURCE: Blinking power light
The TV has developed a fault where the start up procedure cannot be carried out & therefore the TV switches itself back off. You would need to remove the back of the TV & check if there are voltages going to your backlights (24v), are there all the other voltage rails present at start up eg 15v, 5v etc. Check the power supply to see if any of the capacitors are showing signs of stress such as a bulging on the top. If you do not have a multi meter to check voltages or feel comfortable to do this, then it would be best to contact a repair service centre.
